FPS is a 100% INEOS-owned integrated oil and gas liquid transportation and processing system with a nominal capacity in excess of one million barrels per day serving the central area of the North Sea.
Oil and gas liquids from over 50 offshore fields and St Fergus flow through pipelines into FPS. FPS transports crude oil and gas liquids from offshore and onshore entry points, processes the liquids at Kinneil and redelivers to the customer Forties Blend crude oil at Hound Point and either Raw Gas or fractionated Gas Products at Grangemouth
job purpose
A high impact cross-functional role, driving improved contractor productivity, safety, commercial and value assurance - delivered though centralised supplier management for a suite of Work Management related contracts.
Ensures cost management processes are fit-for-purpose, and are adopted by internal teams and term contractors, to drive improvement in contractor performance visibility, governance, cost assurance and minimize contract value leakage.
principile accountabilities
- Commercial interface between work execution (e.g. maintenance), cost assurance, SHEQ and procurement teams – to maximise the performance of term contractors
- Provide oversight to 40+ Work Management related contracts – £50m+ spend, activity planning, contract performance measures , non-conformance and supplier-relationship management
- Lead and control the implementation and compliance of cost assurance processes, procedures and system-workflows – supports setting the standard, governs and drives improvement initiatives
- Directly responsible for defining the QS cost control requirement within FPS; oversees the performance of Quantity Surveying and ensuring best value from third party spend
- Enables the Procurement function with the installation, ongoing management and delivery of Supplier Performance Relationship Management for WM related contracts
- Responsible for driving cross-functional problem solving and structured action plans for performance improvement, where supplier performance does not meet standards expected
- Provide expert advice and guidance for the development of procurement strategies, identifying risks associated for critical, high value and complex scopes
- Chair of the Work Management Contract Owners’ Forum – to drive a collective commercial improvement agenda for Work Management contracts
- Assess and implement new technology solutions that support enhanced visibility of contract performance and cost control/ management
- Provide leadership to contract owners, supporting FPS deliver an enhanced overall contract management capability

- Part of a new centralized Work Management performance improvement team, established to provide longer-term, steadier and planning improvements for work executed across FPS
- Role requires significant cross-functional effort and stakeholder management to set and drive the successful deployment of new cost management and control processes
- Expected to establish the business case for enhanced QS and cost governance
- Member of the FPS site Incident Management Team: Business Support Liaison Representative
qualifications and technical experience
- HNC/ D or Degree Qualified, or minimum of 5 years’ experience of commercial/ cost operations, contract management for the maintenance planning, scheduling and/or execution functions
- Deep understanding of Work Management processes, with hands-on knowledge of energy industry maintenance planning, scheduling and execution a plus
- Significant experience working in the energy, natural resources and petrochemicals sectors
- Knowledge and understanding of the NAECI ( “the blue book”), a plus
- Embodies INEOS rules and behaviours and sets expectations of contractors: ‘20 Principles’ and ‘LSR’
- Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, SAP and Maximo
- Strong oral and written communication skills
