Warehouse Operations Lead

To provide leadership to the Warehouse function daily, setting requirements, targets and expectations of the Warehouse team, whilst being the communication channel between the warehouse and the Supply Chain Operations Manager.

The job holder will be expected to be a representative of INEOS and advocate the site Life Saving Rules and 20 Principles.

The role is required to ensure the safety and efficiency of the warehouse team and all of the required operations. The job holder has to identify key safety requirements for operating a warehouse as well as identifying any risks. Within the role, the job holder will also need to provide line management to the warehouse team including instruction, guidance and support where necessary.

Responsibilities 

Manage the team and their use of our FLT fleet to maximise operational efficiency, reducing impacts, in a safe and efficient manner.

To be an active participant of the warehouse operations team and driving forward operational efficiency projects through management of the team and priorities.

Ensure all Finished Product is dispatched to the customer in a timely manner, respecting customer order dates and specific requirements.

Devise and prepare a Distribution Plan for Ineos compounds that considers the customer needs whilst focussing on maximising processes and aligning loading to Warehouse capacity.

Drive the success of the Distribution plans by challenging internal departments to complete all necessary transactions before stock is due to leave site.

Maximise the loading of transport and work closely with key freight forwarders to devise a method of maintaining a high TOR and reduce costs to the business.

Be the focal point of the business in dealing with freight forwarders, organising transport and dealing with any issues arising from distribution complaints.

Work with external partners to ensure all necessary transport documentation is prepared in full, up front and correctly to avoid any possible issues with delaying deliveries and potential additional costs.

Achieve and maintain excellent working relationships with all internal and external customers, and where possible, utilise that relationship to maximise cost benefits to Ineos.

Education and Experience 

Educated to A level standard with previous management experience of leading, motivating and developing a warehouse team.

Prior knowledge of Logistics procedures and processes.

Technical Skills 

Problem solving skills, negotiating skills, analytical skills to assess customer needs and translate this to optimise benefit to Ineos, influencing skills to manage changes with internal and external customers/suppliers that will allow for positive outcomes for the business.

IT skills on business systems such as SAP and Excel with a strong knowledge of other Windows based software packages.

Knowledge and understanding of Export documentation requirements.

Behavioural Skills 

The ability to make firm and responsible decisions and to be able to communicate clearly with personnel at all levels, both within and outside the organisation whilst demonstrating a sound knowledge of the supply chain process.

Capable of analysing situations and identifying improvement opportunities that can be implemented. Needs to have a strong drive for change and focus on always improving the business processes and procedures.

A broad knowledge of production planning operations, logistics, safety, commercial, financial and is business drivers with the ability to understand and respond to customer needs.

Ability to work towards set targets, action planning, follow up and working within a team environment.
