Purpose of the job: 

Accountability for variable cost reporting in actuals, budget and forecast to ensure the accounts are correct, variances are explained clearly and concisely to the Asset and Management teams in a timely and accurate manner adhering to the Acetyls and Group policies.

Accountabilities:

  • Champion the INEOS 20 Safety Principles.

  • Understand the variable cost contracts of Acetyls, Texas City to ensure that the costs incurred are as per contract/term sheets.

  • Report, review and analyze the variable production costs of Acetyls, Texas City plants, including utilities and raw materials, to enable operations personnel to monitor plant performance and take corrective action where necessary through review of price, volume and efficiency analysis.

  • Report, review and analyze the costs attributable to the Site Partners and create and post monthly billings.

  • Provide cash forecasting information for weekly and monthly cash flow reporting.

  • Perform balance sheet assurance and reconciliations on quarterly/monthly basis.

  • Liaise with Operations and Procurement to understand variances between actual, budget and forecast and communicate findings to the different functions, ensuring any issues are resolved timely and pricing is current.

  • Provide financial analysis, advice, ideas and direction to product teams, proactively contributing to cost control and improving the plants’ performance.

  • Monitor and reconcile the stock ledgers to ensure that the stock assets are safeguarded, not misstated in the SAP accounting system and the system of control is maintained.

  • Determine the valuation of different categories stock in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and the INEOS Group policies as well as lead the COGS FIFO process.

  • Calculate and accrue income due from the Site Partners and create monthly billings.

  • Analyse prior accruals to ensure correct release to the P&L.

  • Understand the BOM make up of each product and ensure it is current.

  • Work with other functions to provide information, share knowledge and understanding of data as and when required.

  • To join ad-hoc project teams in order to help INEOS Acetyls achieve specific goals.

  • Any other finance duties as they arise.

Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance with 3-5 years relevant experience.

  • The role requires a sound technical accounting knowledge and strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and GAAP, to be capable of applying the understanding and knowledge in daily posting and reporting activities.

  • Highly independent and results-orientated in order to encourage a culture of high data quality through accuracy, attention to detail, consistency and understanding.

  • The jobholder needs to have well developed PC skills and preferably knowledge of SAP.

  • Preferable to have cost accounting experience in a manufacturing industry.

  • Strong numerical and analytic skills, business acumen and understanding of business drivers.
