The Logistics Trainer will have responsibility for providing and assessing training for the Logistics Operators within INEOS Acetyls - Texas City’s Logistics Department. The major responsibilities of the Logistics Trainer are not limited to, but include the following:

  • Responsible for knowing and understanding each logistics operator job task and its function within the department, including, but not limited to, loading railcars, trucks and trailer vessels, railcar switching operations, and track mobile operations.
  • Responsible for leading field demonstrations for each logistics operating procedures.
  • Responsible for identifying discrepancies between the logistics operating procedures and current work processes and driving resolution through employee coaching and procedure updates.
  • Responsible for reviewing and updating logistics operating procedures in accordance with site standards and industry best practices.
  • Responsible for offering feedback on the current logistics training program and further developing the training program, including but not limited to, updating the job training documents, job task demonstrations, tabletop drills, annual operator refresher training, and the initial operator onboarding training guide.
  • Responsible for recommending an appropriate training schedule and ensuring schedule compliance for the trainees within the logistics department.
  • Responsible for providing coaching feedback to trainees.
  • Responsible for scheduling and participating in board reviews for the Logistics Operators seeking to qualify for a job position.
  • Responsible for updating the trainees’ Team Manager and the Area Manager on progress from an unbiased perspective.

  • The Logistics Trainer will report directly to the Manufacturing Support Area Manager.

Required Qualifications:

  • 18 Years of Age with a High School diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of loading/unloading experience with railcars, trucks and/or marine
  • Must possess or obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card prior to first day of employment.
  • Possess a current, valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa sponsorship (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident)
  • Possess skills, knowledge, and training related to implementation of life critical processes: LOTO, system and process openings, working at heights, hot work, confined space entry, energized electrical work.
  • Basic knowledge of chemicals and their safe handling.
  • Basic understanding of window-based programs: MS Word, MS Excel, Outlook

Desired Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Received all qualifications as an operator within the INEOS Acetyls - Texas City Logistics Department.
  • Prior safe work permitting experience.
  • Must be able to demonstrate, based on past performance, having a positive outlook and high standard of work.
  • Ability to demonstrate, based on past performance, problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Desire to continually learn and understand the logistics department’s operation.
  • At least 2 years’ experience working at INEOS Acetyls - Texas City site to ensure understanding of site safety policies, environmental rules, and general safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, EPA, TCEQ, RCRA)
  • Experience with safe work practices
  • Experience with maintenance activities
  • Experience with Emergency Response
  • Process Technology degree
  • Knowledge and understanding of regulatory/compliance issues, HSES policies, guidelines and procedures, including HSES contractor/guest guidelines.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Must be willing and able to work outside, year-round under various weather conditions. INEOS Acetyls - Texas City is a 24-hour, 365 days per year operations.
  • The candidate must be capable of climbing (scaffolds, towers, vessels, etc.) and working at heights.
  • Able to lift/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
  • The ability to work in a confined space and from elevated platforms.
  • Able to wear appropriate protective equipment.
  • Basic computer skills are a requirement for this position.
