Your Role: The Timing & Scheduling Specialist is primarily focused on elaborating and developing an automotive engineering development system from strategy to end-of-lifecycle incl. timing, scheduling and maturity tracking. Furthermore, relevant tools and processes have to be implemented and maintained.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Take over responsibility of creating and implementing engineering processes in close cooperation with all relevant programme members within the whole product development process
- Analyse and validate existing processes and optimise them to improve efficiency
- Responsibility for continuous improvement and implement best practice procedures in engineering process environment
- Evaluate, analyse, and provide solutions for deviations on time and schedule, along with implications, evaluations and reworking to schedule
- Keep engineering project team informed on changes in targets and/or restrictions regarding timing.
- Keep Programme Manager informed of all deviations and changes to project, providing analysis on outcomes and schedule
- Take the correct countermeasures in case of delay and in conjunction with key stakeholders
- Develop, monitor, and maintain target project records with the project management, site managers, suppliers, and other project participants
- Track project milestones and deliverables, on time process and gate reviews and provide detail reports as required
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks and devise contingency plans
- Design, create and revision of detailed time schedules across all project phases
- Attend meetings as directed by programme management, take and distribute meeting minutes to the necessary stakeholders
For the Timing & Scheduling Specialist we are looking for:
- 8-10 years’ experience gained at either a Tier 1 automotive supplier or automotive OEM, and will be able to demonstrate knowledge of the automotive design and launch process, from concept to industrialisation, in-order to managing the master and detailed schedules
- Completed engineering degree or equivalent technical vocational training
- Several years of professional experience in project management in the automotive industry
- Several years of professional experience in scheduling of projects in the automotive industry
- Safe handling of MS Project
- Good handling of presentation media and the MS Office package
- Good English spoken & written
- Independent and responsible way of working
- Must possess strong verbal and written communications skills and should be comfortable giving presentations
- There will be some travel involved in the role. The role will be based primarily in Germany (Böblingen) and therefore English and German language skills are beneficial.
