Main role purpose:
To fill a vacant position within the local service desk team, we are looking for a motivated telecom technician who will be responsible for the plant local area network as well as supporting the other Belgian Sites for their network projects.
The post holder will be part of the local service desk team responsible for providing technical expertise and support for all related telecom topics and will assure the maintenance of the related equipment and infrastructure.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
- Design, install, configure and maintain the LAN infrastructure (firewalls, CISCO switches, access points, cabling…)
- Analyse and solve complex network issues.
- Configure, maintain and support the local VoIP system (MITEL).
- Install, configure, maintain and support phones (analogic and IP), video and conferencing equipment (Polycom,..), intercom equipment.
- Contribute to the implementation of new telecom solutions, services or changes.
- Participate in various IT Infrastructure projects.
- Support of the Belgian sites related to their telecom infrastructure.
Key skills & experience required:
- Bachelor in computer and science or equivalent through experience.
- Minimum 5 years of IT professional experience in managing network equipment in a large organisation or company.
- Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and network principle (switching/routing).
- Advanced knowledge in Cisco Network and equipment -CISCO (level CCNP) certification is an asset.
- Experience with VoIP & Unified Communication and familiarity with ITIL methodology.
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
