Purpose of the Job:
The Materials Inventory Technician (Warehouse) will provide shared responsibility for the oversight and coordination of all storeroom and warehouse activities to ensure successful support for the BCO site as required.
Environmental Factors:
The Warehouse Technician must have a thorough knowledge of the work processes required for the successful operations of all onsite storeroom and warehouse activities. This includes competent knowledge of all policies and procedures and has experience in all daily activities as required. Previous experience in a chemical processing plant and strong knowledge of the mechanical equipment in use is critical.

Report and investigate all deviations from standard operating procedures.
Work within the limit of competency and training.
The Warehouse Technician must understand and have a working knowledge of the following accountabilities
Accountability 2:
Inventory & Materials Management
Oversee day‑to‑day evaluation, replenishment, and accuracy of materials inventory.
Ensure the warehouse is organized for efficient, logical workflow and aligned with best practices.
Evaluate, replenish and accuracy of Materials Inventory stock. Inventory Analysis, Stock out analysis, conducting physical inventories
Replenish stock using SAP reorder methods, including review of Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and Collective Requisition processing.
Evaluate and refine inventory levels to support long‑term inventory optimization and reduction goals.
Coordinate cyclical inventories and Delegation of Authority requests for adjustment postings.
Process returns of unused stock and manage follow‑up on multiple returns with site clients.
Provide strategic evaluation of materials to determine obsolescence or replacement needs.
Accountability 3:
SAP / Systems Responsibilities
Serve as the integration link to designated SAP/IS systems, including “Superuser” responsibilities for the Materials Inventory/Management module.
Train Materials Management personnel and site clients on SAP processes.
Initiate MDG technical material requests and evaluate catalog material changes (additions, deletions, extensions).
Generate SAP reports for material evaluation and monthly KPI measurements.
Accountability 4:
Repairable Process & Procurement Coordination
Understand the repairable process and assist with resolution of blocked invoices.
Perform follow‑up activities with Reliability on changes to stocked spare parts.
Identify and resolve discrepancies related to material upgrades and descriptions.
Communicate daily with the procurement group to expedite and maintain current status of warehouse purchase orders.
Evaluate, reconcile, and coordinate with suppliers and Accounts Payable to correct invoicing issues.
Accountability 5:
Customer & Site Support
Interact daily with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Procurement teams.
Maintain best practices and communicate process updates to site personnel.
Be available for on‑call duty on a rotational basis and respond to callouts using sound judgment regarding inventory handling and control.
Support Working Capital Program reviews and coordinate inventory write‑offs.
Provide support for special projects and turnarounds, as needed.
Skills/Competencies:
Level of education & Experience in general
High School diploma or equivalent – degree a plus
2+ years of experience in chemical manufacturing industry.
5+ years of warehouse / stores management and have knowledge of the equipment in use (pumps, valves, gaskets, MRO parts).
Certified forklift operator or previous certification and experience operating a forklift in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
TWIC cardholder or ability to obtain a TWIC
Technical skills
Strong computer competency including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
Knowledge of Materials Inventory industry best practices including Integrated Suppliers, Vendor Stocking, Electronic Commerce (including EDI), Stockless Inventory, Bar-coding and Supply Chain Management.
Experience using an enterprise software; proficiency with SAP Warehouse Management and Materials Management software preferred.
General knowledge of inventory management including inventory evaluation and analysis.
Understanding of business processes and procedures, materials inventory and purchasing processes and workflows and demonstrates through work history a pattern of actively seeking continuous improvement.
Strong interpersonal skills and leadership attributes are key to the ability to manage the day-to-day activity and implement long range goals.

ADA Physical requirements, visual acuity requirements and environmental conditions
Maintain a safe working environment, comply with all safety guidelines, know evacuation procedure, become forklift certified, know site requirements for safe delivery of items, knowledge of site delivery locations, skilled in loading and unloading shipments, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements compliance, knowledge of handling and storage of cylinder gases, 55 gallon drums, practice good housekeeping, attend required safety training and participate in local site safety programs. Participate in routine location audits and physical inventory cycle counts.
