ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

A highly motivated Technical Trainer/Assessor is required to join our Central Operations Support Team. This role is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to work within a plant area that has seen significant recent investment and includes a diverse array of equipment types.

Key accountabilities

  • Ensure craft technician competency matrices and individual training profiles are up-to-date; provide feedback to Craft team leaders on technician competence assessment results and agree action/training plans to close competence gaps.
  • Review and revise standards of training, assessment and competence across all O&P Craft teams, in order to continuously improve standards of competence.
  • In partnership with the Maintenance Assessors, assess competence of (currently 80) craft technicians.
  • As lead verifier, train and coach I/E and Mechanical (Maintenance) SVQ assessors and deputy SVQ verifier for each discipline.
  • Support the development of Apprentices.
  • Assess competence of all I/E and Mechanical apprentices throughout their training and agree action plans to close competence gaps.
  • Deliver on-the-job training and coaching to address craft technician competence gaps.

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Be a qualified A1/A2 Assessor.
  • Be a qualified V1 Verifier.
  • Have a background in either Instrument/Electrical or Mechanical Maintenance activities.
  • Be proficient with IT, specifically Excel.
  • Have strong negotiation skills, communication, managing relationships, teamwork.
