JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Automation team leader, the post holder will join the FPS Automation and Control Team supporting the whole of the FPS asset based organisation. The role will perform IT security monitoring, analysis and reporting to ensure that Ineos FPS meets our critical compliance requirements. The role will provide an opportunity to develop and work across all aspects of Automation Control and IT with support and training to gain GIAC & full Cisco/Palo Alto certification working towards fully chartered status.

Principle Accountabilities

The successful candidate will be based in Headquarters supporting all assets across FPS working towards being a Subject Matter Expert. You will work alongside senior engineers; Cyber Security, Advanced Control & DCS in a collaborative environment working through a four year development program covering the following discipline elements;

Distributed Control Systems

  • Develop in depth knowledge of the process control environment, servers, stations, virtual environment, Firewalls, networks, plant historians, database management, DCS online upgrades, Scada, PLC’s, safety system integration, Fire & Gas integration

Security Goverence  

  • Driving the security gap and compliance program
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of OT vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of security best practices; compliance with UK and International security standards and best practice
  • Develop maintain and improve the current Cyber Security Management System; procedures, registers and simple network drawings.

Protection systems

  • Learning to maintain and manage upgrades of Intrusion detection and prevention systems
  • Supporting Control Network & Firewall management and maintenance program -
  • Maintaining Active directory and access systems – Responsible for the domain administration
  • Implementing Data security procedures and check systems compliance
  • Helping maintain Microsoft patch distribution and update systems, end point protection and white listing

Monitoring and Alert system Implementation and management

  • Developing innovative, automated, monitoring and reporting solutions to detect and report anomalous behaviour across the OT environment
  • Maintain and develop monitoring and alert systems (SIEM)
  • Learn how to Conduct log-based and end point threat hunting projects to identify threats and provide the business with solutions and remediation strategies
  • Learn how to analyse existing cybersecurity mitigation strategies/controls and assess their effectiveness.
  • Develop hands on experience with a variety of tools to simulate cyber-attacks through pen testing to define and develop current and new security monitoring systems

Response and Recovery

  • Help drive forward the capability and management of disaster recovery, Incident response and business continuity planning, including desktop exercise and scenario planning. 
  • Learn how to manage and maintain automated backup and recovery systems across all platforms; Virtual, servers, stations, firewalls, routing and switching equipment.

Qualifications and technical experience

Degree in one of the following; Electronic & Electrical, IT; Computing Science or Software Engineering, Electronic & Digital Systems.
