We’re looking for a Sustainability Specialist to join the INEOS Acetyls team. We need highly motivated individuals who want to be part of our growing business.

INEOS Acetyls is a global chemicals business producing acetic acid and a range of derivatives across Europe, Asia and America. We’re part of INEOS - one of the largest petrochemical companies in the world, employing around 26,000 people across 194 sites in 29 countries.

You will be based at the Hull site, which is the largest producer of acetic acid, acetic anhydride and ethyl acetate in Europe. The products we produce are essential building blocks used in almost every industry, including renewable power, automotive, pharmaceuticals, coatings and textiles.

Hull is also home to the business's global Technology Development and Support Team and is based on the 370-acre Saltend Chemicals Park - a cluster of world-class chemicals and renewable energy businesses at the heart of the UK's energy estuary.

Key accountabilities

As Sustainability Specialist you will be responsible for developing and delivering INEOS Acetyls global sustainability plans, reporting and obligations. This includes developing Net Zero roadmaps for our global business, developing our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) plans, delivering all environmental, energy and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting. A subset of this will be to support the wider team in the completion of Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) studies.

You will also carry out the commercial delivery of Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) and Climate Change Levy obligations and act as the subject matter expert on sustainability developments and global/regional legislation, policy, and funding. A key aspect of this will be to engage with customers and government to clearly communicate, and advocate for, our sustainability agenda.

About you
We are seeking the very best engineering and chemistry graduates who demonstrate the skills and qualifications outlined below. Mechanical, chemical, electrical and instrumentation engineering disciplines and both first degree and PhD chemists are welcome to apply.

  • A minimum of 2:1 Master’s degree in the relevant discipline.
  • Ambition and personal motivation.
  • The ability to work under pressure with confidence.
  • A drive for action, initiative and delivery, a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
