With LAO manufacturing facilities in Canada and Belgium, INEOS Oligomers is one of the large merchant suppliers of Linear Alpha Olefins (LAO).

 LAO is used in a variety of industries, with main markets being comonomers for polyethylene, feedstock for production of lubricants, surfactants, lubricant additives, and paper sizing chemicals, and base stock for drilling fluids. PAO is a synthetic lubricant.

As part of its growth strategy, INEOS Oligomers invested $500 million in a new world scale LAO & PAO production facility located in Chocolate Bayou, Alvin, Texas.

INEOS Oligomers is hiring a Storehouse Supervisor that will report to the North American Procurement Manager

Purpose of the job:

The The Storehouse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the plant’s MRO inventory is accurate, sufficient, and controlled in a well-organized manner with the use of SAP.  The Storehouse Supervisor is responsible for the productivity of the team that performs the task.

The Storehouse Supervisor is responsible for providing oversight and supervision for the following locations: 

  • Oligomers Chocolate Bayou – Alvin, Texas 

  • Oligomers Laporte – Laporte, Texas 

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities

Major responsibilities for the Storehouse Supervisor include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Work safely and enforce safe work practices. 

  • Assist personnel doing the work and remove any barriers. 

  • Control Storehouse access. 

  • Purchase spare parts to meet designated inventory levels. 

  • Perform periodic inventory count to ensure inventory accuracy 

  • Monitor & report on Storehouse KPI’s 

  • Receive incoming materials and deliver received goods. 

  • Restock spare parts and consumables. 

  • Issue spare parts and consumables. 

  • Perform, document, and report inventory cycle count. 

  • Arrange for parts and equipment shipments, material pickups, and resolve delivery problems. 

  • Research and provide data for reports. 

  • Review and approve contractor time-sheets. 

  • Assist in collecting data for KPI. 

  • Be available for off hours storehouse requests. 

  • Keep all storehouse equipment in a safe working condition with current certifications. 

  • HSE responsibilities include but are not restricted to the following: 

  • Ensure documentation is complete for incoming and outgoing material to include Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for incoming chemicals. 

  • Compliance to Oligomers Chocolate Bayou Policies and Procedures, INEOS 20 Safety Principles, and other HSE programs. 

  • Perform other assigned tasks. 

Skills Required

Level of education & Experience in general

  • High school diploma required. 

  • Minimum 10 years in managing or supervising a MRO Storehouse house/storeroom. 

  • Prefer experience in an industrial maintenance environment. 

  • Prefer experience with operating a forklift. 

Technical skills:

  • Ability to demonstrate strong working knowledge of personal safety and health practices applicable in an industrial environment. 

  • Ability to demonstrate strong working knowledge of storehouse management to include shipping, receiving, purchasing, stocking, issuing, cycle counting, and reporting of MRO materials.  

  • Working knowledge of technical and safety documentation associated with MRO material. 

  • Prefer working knowledge of maintenance work order processing, material requisition and purchasing, and maintenance budgets.  

  • Prefer experience with Microsoft Office and SAP. 

  • Ability to operate a forklift.  Forklift operation requires training and license. 

  • Fluent in English.

ADA Physical requirements, visual acuity requirements and environmental conditions

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift at least 50lbs, walking, climbing ladders/stairs, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to perform climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and manual operation of various size valves and equipment.  

  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes. 

  • Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discriminations in sound.
