Job Objective
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining day to day financial records to ensure accuracy and system requirements are accurately reflected, preparing financial reports to fulfill requirements, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:
- Monitor and record daily financial transactions in the general ledger related to freight and logistics and other corporate expenses
- Support Month End Activities including journal entry preparation and posting
- Support the audit process by providing necessary documentation and explanations
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights
- Research accounting issues and coordinate solutions
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Maintain organized financial files and documentation
- Ensure GL account reconciliations are being performed on a predetermined basis
- Complete assigned special projects are completed timely and successfully
- Cross-functional training to support other members of the finance team, including by not limited to manufacturing, cash flow, and other related areas
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
- Familiarity with accounting software, SAP, HFM preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Solid Mathematical and Financial acumen
- Excellent written, verbal, and analytical skills
