Organisational Context and Job Purpose

How the Role fits In:
Provide support for safety, and health programs.Provide compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.Safety & Health responsibilities are to provide technical assistance in the management of the Safety & Health program.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
SHE Stewardship
Maintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all INEOS safety policies and procedures.
Understand and promote the INEOS “20 Principles of Safety”, assuring that personnel are aware of safe working practices and promote the safety concepts of “Coaching for Safety” and “Stop Work”.
Promote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to promote safety to the fullest extent possible.
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and strive to meet internal SHE objectives.
Ensure completion of own and direct subordinate training requirements as outlined in the annual training schedule.
Work Duties
Assist SHE Manager in implementing a management system for SHE that includes continuous improvement, plan-do-check-act, document control, etc. based on the 20 Principles and Life Saving Rules.
Work with environmental/security specialist including on environmental compliance audits.
Interface with other departments conducting projects that may affect safety & health.
Lead security at the site.
Coordination and tracking of employee ESH training.
Coordinate and control industrial hygiene monitoring program including interpretation of testing and monitoring results.
Manage inspection, testing, and projects on fire protection systems
Work with Fire Chief and SHE Manager on improvements, training, and support for the Emergency Response Team
Apply statistical control to overall Safety and Health program.
Analyse and control process change for effects to ESH.
Lead in implementation of the Safety and Health program.
Assist process engineering in projects that directly affect safety and health compliance.
Skills & Knowledge Required
Education/Experience
This position requires an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science Degree or higher.
Three (5) to five (7) years of experience.
Skills/Competencies
The use of the following office equipment will be required: Personal computer, calculator, multi-line telephone, copier, printer, scanner
The use of the following software could be required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook), Skype, Visio, Adobe (PDF), Share Point, SAP, Microsoft Project
The use of the following site systems could be required: Uniformance, Tenforce, Training Mine, Esker
Knowledge of regulatory requirements.
Good communications skills are essential.
Physical Requirements
Ability to climb fixed ladder cages (employee may need ladders as means of egress during emergency).
Ability to climb 6 flights of stairs.
Ability to lift 50 lb.
Ability to wear required PPE: Hardhat, safety glasses, chemical goggles, face shield, rigid safety shoes/boots, full/half face cartridge masks.
Ability to work length of time outdoors/ inclement weather.
Job specific:Climbing, balance, bend/stoop, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying.
