The Position:
This position reports to the Head of Business Partnering - Americas and is the financial business partner for one of three polymer units (ABS, PS, Advanced) in the Americas region. The role leads the financial processes of the unit to ensure that Business Managers and BU Leadership have clear visibility of its P&L performance, cost structure, and KPI’s and supports the business team in decision making. The position is responsible for the analysis of margins, costs, budgets/forecast and proactively supporting the BU in strategy and investment decisions. In addition, a key component of the role includes process improvement and implementing data analysis automation.
What you Will Do:
- Serve as the main finance contact for the respective business.
- Monitor business and economic trends and partner with the business to plan for anticipated business changes.
- Prepare and coordinate the monthly finance forecast and annual budget and present financial information to the business and regional management.
- Prepare and communicate financial results in an engaging manner to various levels of management.
- Provide analysis for pricing changes based on commodity feedstock forecast.
- Work cross functional with sales, procurement, logistics and site operations to develop, validate and improve item/customer profitability.
- Prepare ad hoc financial modeling and analysis to support the business unit/regional/global financial goals.
- Seek out and implement process improvements and automation to enhance consistency and reduce complexity across the financial and non-financial environment.
- Support the month-end close process for the business unit as required.
What you Will Bring/Level of Education and Knowledge:
- Bachelors/Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics. An advanced degree, MBA, or CPA is highly desirable
- Fluency in English required. Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Minimum 5+ years of progressive financial planning and analysis experience, including experience in a manufacturing and/or a sales & marketing type company, Chemical Industry preferred
- Experience with segment reporting and profit center controlling / accounting.
- Expertise in SAP financial modules (FI & CO), and a good understanding of the integration with other modules. Knowledge of SAP BPC, BI/Business Objects, Essbase, EDWH or other reporting tools.

- Demonstrated experience with cost accounting/reporting, IFRS/GAAP, Supply Chain, Planning and Forecasting and the ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office Products: Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Power BI a plus
