Role and purpose:

The Procurement Manager Direct is responsible for leading direct spend team (SM and other raw materials) in Foshan and Ningbo site. 
The Procurement Manager Direct adheres to procurement framework, governance set and company strategy to ensure business and operational demand such as monomers, plastic additives, process aids under Global & Regional procurement network. 

Main responsibilities:

•    Implement sourcing and contracting strategy. 
•    Secure multiple suppliers by sourcing strategy 
•    Develop sustainable competitive advantage on China to achieve cost leadership
•    Account for purchasing compliance in China – legal, tax, trade sanction and local regulation etc
•    Develop and maintain category under regional wave plan
•    Ensure close collaboration for global category development 
•    Negotiate spot/term SM purchasing contracts with suppliers to ensure supply security and achieve competitive terms & conditions
•    Improve the business relationships with suppliers, sourcing for more supply opportunities
•    Strengthen the marketing understanding and resources 
•    Well manage the internal relationship and provide necessary support in sales
•    Lead and participate in cross functional strategic projects
•    Participate in all annual audits and quality systems certification (ISOs, customer, environmental audits)
•    Generate Contract Review and Approval Forms (CRAFs) and SAP Outline Agreements (OLAs) as required to receive approvals for supply of raw materials.
•    Generate Purchase Orders (if needed) for securing Raw Material by each site
•    Maintenance of the SAP / Coupa Vendor Master
•    Ensure all procurement policies and procedures including the Delegation of Authority are followed throughout the procurement process
•    Maintain a good understanding of market trends and supplier developments in the Chemical and associated building blocks industries
•    Support Trade Compliance in obtaining relevant documents 
•    Coordinate with Finance and other functions to resolve costing issues
•    Coordinate with Customer Service for intercompany raw material transfers
•    Ensure suppliers compliance with internal SHE/Sustainability regulations incl. Supplier Code of Conduct (SCoC)
•    Manage Supplier Relation Management: maintain good relations with suppliers, develop new suppliers
•    Develop and implement supplier data base and tools for business sustainability
•    People Management: lead and motivate the team, set up and implement training plan in order to improve working efficiency, quality and professional skills of the team member, provide development needs and opportunities, and secures resources to support development efforts


What do you need to succeed:

•    Bachelor’s Degree, preferable in Business administration or chemical engineering/chemistry
•    General Knowledge & experience on procurement 
•    Understanding of global/regional/country petrochemical supply and demand balance and trade pattern
•    At least 10 years relevant working experience
•    Leadership
•    Excellent communication & Negotiation skills  
•    Strategic thinking
•    Ability to work with different personal styles and approaches 
•    Fluent English

Technical skills:
•    Development of Sourcing and Contracting strategy 
•    Procurement experience, preferable for direct spends
•    Production and Processing -- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
•    SHE practices
