The Lima Site Director manages all aspects relating to the operation of the Lima, Ohio Site including SHE, reliability, costs, quality, people, community and industrial neighbors. A number of inter-site agreements covering utilities and services are required at the site due to the connectivity of the various processes which were formerly under a single owner. The Site Director is called upon to provide an environment in which all businesses can achieve success while protecting the business interests of INEOS.

INEOS Nitriles is a global chemicals business with sales volume of 1200 kte and revenue in excess of $2.4 billion. The Nitriles business has 2 manufacturing operations in the US and 2 in Europe along with offices and headquarters in Rolle, Switzerland and Aurora, Illinois near Chicago. The Nitriles Business primary products include acrylonitrile, hydrogen cyanide, and acetonitrile. Additionally, Nitriles also has a plant that produces catalyst for internal use at the Lima Site, globally within Ineos, and for other Acrylonitrile producers.
Internal:
•Lima uses, makes, stores, handles, and/or ships large quantities of hazardous materials including propylene, anhydrous ammonia, acrylonitrile, hydrogen cyanide and acetonitrile. Specific regulatory requirements exist due to the nature and location of our operations and waste treatment. A rigorous and preventative approach to safety, health, security and the environment is of the utmost importance.
•INEOS hourly employees are represented by the United Steel Workers which covers operations, maintenance and lab employees.
•All job activities must be executed in a safe and efficient manner consistent with the INEOS 20 Principles. The Plant is certified in ISO9001:2015 and the Total Quality Management System shall be incorporated into all job activities.
External:
•The INEOS Nitriles Plant at Lima is part of an industrial campus which includes a refinery and chemical complex.
•INEOS share services, utilities, products, and feedstocks with four adjacent manufacturing facilities: Nutrien (ammonia, urea, nitric acid), Fort Amanda Specialties (chelates), Ashland (1,4-butanediol), and Husky Refining (propylene, fuels and refined oil products).
•There are common environmental permits among the businesses with which the site must comply.
•The INEOS Lima chemical plant is situated in the centre of a populated area and adjacent to a military equipment manufacturing site. The community demands a safe and environmentally sound operation, particularly given the nature of the materials at the site.
•Maintaining solid relationships with elected officials, public safety agencies, regulatory authorities and the media is a must. The Site Director meets regularly with state and local law enforcement officials, the county Director of Homeland Security, US military officers, and other Plant Managers to discuss local safety, security, and other concerns.
Accountabilities of the job: describe the main results expected from the job
•Safe, secure, legally compliant and reliable operation of the Lima site:
o Assure strict compliance with INEOS 20 Principles
o Assure strict compliance with OSHA PSM and other applicable US Laws.
o Assure comprehensive and preventative SHE management processes are in place including audits, corrective action tracking, and incident investigations.
o Organize and support emergency response and action plans.
o Review and approve documents submitted to regulatory agencies and act as the company designee.
o Assure site security plans are maintained, current, and are consistent with corporate directives and chemical industry best practices.
o Assure compliance with ISO standards.
•Strict fixed cost control and leadership for each area on Site.
•Variable cost understanding, control, and efficiency for each area on Site.
•Short term and strategic long term CAPEX portfolio development, implementation, and management for long term reliability and viability of the entire Site.
•Develop Operating and Maintenance strategies to drive asset integrity and reliable operations.
•Budget development and presentation to Senior Nitriles leadership.
•Instil a strong performance bias for all employees utilizing INEOS Performance Management Process.
•Develop overall employee competencies and conduct succession planning to assure long-term workforce capability.
•Engagement of workforce - Communicate business and Site direction in ways that keep employees informed and committed to driving toward the Culture toward prevention, mastering and execution of tasks and outstanding performance in all arenas.
•Site Leadership Team - Supervise, coach, and mentor direct reports. Monitor cascade of leadership and management competencies throughout the organization.
•Active and contributing member of the Nitriles Operations Leadership team and the Nitriles Extended Leadership Team
•Constructively interface with Functional Corporate leads (SHE, PT&E) to ensure best in class performance in SHE as well as leading edge execution of technology advances.
•Accountable for delivering quality, cost effective services to INEOS as well as to Third Parties per contract (Nutrien, Ashland, FAS, etc.).
•Maintain relationships in the community, particularly among elected officials, public safety agencies and regulatory authorities.
•Maintain involvement in the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council, the trade group representing Ohio's chemistry industry to the public and legislative bodies.
•Provide a work environment that maximizes individual and team performance.
•Asset Manager for Lima site assets not covered by other Asset Managers.
Required profile:
Level of education & Experience in general
-Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related discipline; MBA a plus.
-Experience: 15+ years in refining/chemical plant operations in a plant environment, with experiences in a broad spectrum of areas including World scale continuous operations, maintenance, finance, SHE, procurement and logistics/infrastructure is desirable.
