The Site Accountant will provide financial co-stewardship for the Texas City site, including budgeting & forecasting, business partnering, SAP month-end close, contract support and financial analysis. This role ensures accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to support site leadership and the wider Acetyls business.

Accountabilities of the job: 

Accountability 1: Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Review, analyze and report site costs for actuals, budget, and forecast.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet assurance, reconciliations, and IFRS/GAAP-compliant accounting.
  • Monitor and reconcile stock ledgers, ensuring the safeguarding of inventory assets and SAP accuracy.
  • Manage all aspects of production accounting, ensuring accurate consumption, production, variances and stock valuation.
  • Manage COGS valuations, including FIFO, BOM accuracy, and material cost integrity. Review inventory write-offs and adjustments, and report monthly movements.
  • Perform physical inventory counts where necessary.
  • Provide the inputs for the weekly and monthly cash forecast.
  • Co-lead the annual site budget process, coordinating inputs across all the functions.
  • Challenge cost owners to deliver against budget and forecast commitments, ensuring submissions are accurate, commentary is insightful, and fully aligned with Acetyls’ strategic objectives.
  • Support site cash flow forecasting, including working capital analysis, identification of risks and opportunities, and optimize cash performance.
  • Support planning and financial modelling.
  • Responsible for the Oracle HFM upload.
  • Work with other INEOS business units to ensure intercompany balances are cleared.
  • Responsible for the monthly invoice workings for site partners.

Accountability 2: SAP Master Data & System Stewardship

  • Lead the SAP month-end close, including assessments, distributions, allocations and co-lead all financial stewardship activities.
  • Maintain and validate SAP financial master data, including cost centers, accounts and allocation structures to ensure accurate cost flow and reporting.
  • Manage the SAP activity-based costing and enter the monthly amounts.
  • Reconcile the different SAP modules.
  • Maintain and update SAP foreign exchange rates.

Accountability 3: Business Partnership

  • Act as the primary financial partner to Operations, Commercial, and Site Leadership.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to the leadership team and stakeholders.
  • Provide financial insight, challenge, and recommendations to improve site performance.
  • Support contract management and serve as the financial point of contact for agreements worth approximately $30m.
  • Influence decision-making through clear communication of risks, opportunities, and trends.
  • Challenge assumptions in operational plans and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the Delegation of Authority is being enforced.

Accountability 4: FP&A and Performance Management

  • Support annual budget and monthly forecasts.
  • Perform variance analysis with clear identification of operational drivers.
  • Partner with the rest of the business to provide cost models, scenario analysis, and profit and loss impacts.
  • Ensure financial insights are integrated into decision-making.
  • Implement process improvement and financial system optimization.
  • Prepare and explain latest estimates and financial forecasts. Provide insights into earnings, cash flow and variances.
  • Develop cost and profitability models by product, asset/ unit to support the organization.

Accountability 5: Cross-Functional Support

  • Apply knowledge of tax law and support compliance.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Treasury as required.
  • Liaise with auditors and ensure compliance with INEOS Group reporting guidelines.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects, system improvements and continuous-improvement initiatives.
  • Join ad-hoc project teams in order to help INEOS Acetyls achieve specific goals.
  • Perform any other finance duties as required.

Required profile:

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance with 10+ years relevant experience.
  • CPA qualified Accountant preferred.
  • The role requires a sound technical accounting knowledge and strong understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and GAAP, to be capable of applying the understanding and knowledge in daily posting and reporting activities.
  • Highly independent and results-oriented in order to encourage a culture of high data quality through accuracy, attention to detail, consistency and understanding.
  • The jobholder needs to have strong digital skills and preferably knowledge of SAP.
  • Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Strong numerical and analytic skills, business acumen and understanding of business drivers.
