Headquartered in League City, TX, INEOS Olefins and Polymers USA is one of the largest producers of olefins and polyolefins in North America.  Ineos produces high-density polyethylene and polypropylene from one of its manufacturing locations at Battleground Manufacturing Complex.

The O&P USA business includes the product lines Ethylene, Propylene, Butadiene, Polypropylene and Polyethylene.  Manufacturing sites include Chocolate Bayou Works (Alvin, TX), Battleground Manufacturing Complex (LaPorte, TX), and Carson (Carson, CA), with a division office in League City, TX.  Overall O&P USA has ~ 1,200 employees, 1,400 contractors, and annual revenue of over $3 billion. 

How the Role Fits in:

The Shipping and Inventory Operations Coordinator will coordinate with Commercial management, Supply Chain management, Customer Service, Car Flow management team, Site Logistics teams, product management, IT, and other functional teams to optimize inventory target levels and on time shipments to all customers and storage facilities.  The position also will be influenced by changes in customer demand, INEOS production and rail carrier performance.

The Main Purpose of the Role: 

Purpose of the position is to provide leadership, direction and strategy for the Shipping and Inventory team that will enable and facilitate the execution of the outlined operational deliverables.  

Specific Individual responsibilities include:

  • Expert in Polypropylene inventory management.
  • Manage the Arkieva Demand Planning Software platform
  • Manage and optimize FSIT/SIT inventory targets
  • Optimize and set bulk truck terminal inventory targets
  • Collaborate with the Product Managers to meet Sales and Operating targets set by the Business Team
  • Lead investigator for customer quality events.
  • Lead trainer for Shipping and Inventory positions.
  • Ability to perform backup coverage for all Shipping and Inventory positions.
  • Perform extensive data monitoring and analysis of performance trends for inventory allocation and have the ability to coordinate with a diverse team of logistics professionals against contract execution, safety objectives, business goals and improvements.
  • Serve as a member of the Supply Chain after hours response team to include DOA for monetary spend
  • Approve process exceptions for Supply Chain to include DOA for monetary spend
  • Internal negation with Product Managers, Rail Team Lead, Customer Service Manager for Process

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities

Accountability 1:

Meet SHE objectives and comply with all governmental laws and policies.

 Most important activities:

 · Set up operating inventory strategies to drive asset integrity.

 · Support and follow a comprehensive SHE management process including audits, corrective action tracking, and incident investigation

 · Support emergency response.

Accountability 2:

Meet operating execution plan for the business including optimum and minimum inventory targets, availability, ship to schedule targets.

Most important activities

 · Develop, utilize and monitor dashboards to optimize operating performance

 · Develop, support, and implement inventory reduction strategies.

 · Develop, support and implement Logistics operations improvement strategies

 · Execute Car Flow operations shipment execution plan

Accountability 3:

Project management

 Most important activities:

 · Lead cross disciplinary team across multiple departments to execute Supply Chain projects.

 · Lead, identify and define training requirements

 · Define resource levels related to training and development

Accountability 4:

Meet commitments between business, inventory targets and customers in the most efficient manner.

Most important activities:

 · Schedule shipments to meet customer and inventory needs for all polymers production sites(4), railcar storage locations(8) and bulk truck and packaging terminals(42)

 · Monitor changes to business and customer delivery requirements including routine adjustment of stock transfers

 · Management of Inventory Target compliance and inventory reduction projects

  • Promptly execute all inventory transactions including packaging and compounding conversions, site bulk truck transloads and imported product.

 · Promptly execute railcar shipment plans

  • Implement ship to schedule process and constraint management process

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

BS in Logistics or Supply Chain Management required.  Will consider other business/engineering or related degrees.

  • 7+ years of experience in supply chain operations, including a strong knowledge of inventory management, transportation systems, SAP, Order to Cash processes.

Skills and Competencies

  • Possess advanced Excel skill including the ability to utilize pivot tables, complex formulas, and graphics.  Expert in complex network optimization techniques and quantitative analysis
  • Able to compile, optimize and analyze data effectively. Creates and manages decision support protocols to facilitate substantive recommendations for improvement.
  • SAP Super User capabilities
  • Expert in Logistics operations for rail, rail equipment, truck, terminal, packaging
  • Expert in commercial and economic optimization
  • Knowledge of safety and quality management systems
  • Expert in SAP SD module knowledge and experience with inventory management software system or transportation management software system.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Frequently (70-100%) sitting.
  • Occasionally (30-60%) lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds.
