THE POSITION


Direct daily operations of unit: Shift supervisors are responsible for overseeing daily operation of the unit. They should coordinate communication between engineering, management and operations on unit rates, equipment status, and inventory through daily meetings, reports, and unit readings.


 

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Commit to INEOS Styrolution’s 20 Principles and Life-Saving Rules while ensuring proper training for Operations Technicians in startup, shutdown, and emergency procedures.
  • Lead daily operations, including shift schedules, payroll, performance reviews, coaching, and conflict resolution, ensuring high team performance and compliance with policies.
  • Conduct daily unit inspections to identify mechanical or process changes, maintain housekeeping, and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
  • Facilitate daily and weekly meetings to prioritize process, safety, and maintenance issues while fostering open communication among all unit personnel.
  • Manage incident reporting, create or revise procedures, and oversee LOTOs to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.
  • Plan and execute startups, shutdowns, TARs, and process improvements, driving cost efficiency and supporting operator training for future business needs.
     

 
WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, Bachelors degree preferred 
  • A minimum of 5 years in plant operations, process troubleshooting skills and people management training or experience
  • Preferred 2-3 years of direct management experience 
  • Demonstrated Leadership competency is preferred

  • Demonstrated commitment to continual learning for both self and others Excellent knowledge of life-critical procedures with ability to provide leadership in the Responsible Care area. Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including week-ends and holidays.
  • Ability to quickly make sound decisions and possess robust trouble-shooting skills
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Ability to create and maintain an atmosphere of trust and open communication Actively perform key role in Texas City’s efforts to achieve and maintain high performance across all departments.

THE LOCATION

  • This opportunity is located in Texas City, TX about 40 miles east of downtown. Please note that relocation is not available for this position.
