Current Opportunity
The Position
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for directing the daily production activities of the shift teams by creating and maintaining a work environment that will permit employees to achieve goals in a manner that is consistent with the SHE principles of INEOS Styrolution through area ownership, team responsibility, and individual accountability.
What you will do:
- Promote Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to INEOS Styrolution safety principles, regulatory requirements, and operational guidelines, including incident investigations, safety documentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Supervise Plant Operations: Oversee daily operations across SAN, rubber, compounding, utilities, OSBL, and tank farm, supervising 10 operators per shift and lab technicians on weekends, nights, and holidays.
- Foster Communication and Collaboration: Coordinate between ASA & EBSM plant operations and support teams such as maintenance, engineering, quality, and SHE to ensure seamless operations.
- Develop and Lead Employees: Manage training, performance evaluations, conflict resolution, and ongoing development for shift employees, ensuring clear expectations and effective engagement.
- Ensure Operational Efficiency: Execute daily operations and maintenance schedules, manage overtime and attendance, and support integrity and reliability programs by addressing operational and mechanical issues.
- Respond to Emergencies and Drive Improvements: Lead site emergency response, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions to maintain safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
What you will bring:
- Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent and relevant working knowledge of chemical processing technology and operations.
- 10+ years of experience at a chemical manufacturing plant required. Desire 5 years in a leadership role.
- Requires a high degree of initiative and ingenuity to work with all site disciplines and departments.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of required safety regulations and standard operating procedures in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to coach and develop teams and individuals through effective performance management.
- Requires a high degree of initiative and ingenuity.
The Location:
This opportunity is located in Pasadena, TX, in the greater Houston metropolitan area, about 30 miles east of downtown. Please note that relocation is not available for this position.
