Key Accountabilities

(Including but not limited to):

  • Maintain working knowledge of all plant equipment and changes in technology
  • Full understanding and implementation of relevant electrical / mechanical legal requirements and engineering standards / processes
  • Regular review of asset integrity and condition using a defined management process
  • Use of robust inspection management / lookahead processes to ensure 100% compliance with Statutory inspections
  • Support technical specification development at the design phase of projects to ensure that the correct engineering standards are understood and used.
  • Manage / complete preventative and predictive maintenance routines
  • Work with colleagues and operational teams to fully understand breakdown issues and support establishment of robust loss accounting systems to identify least reliable equipment – support development of equipment specific policies and / or design changes to improve reliability of equipment and facility.
  • Carry outperiodic reviews of asset condition and use as the basis for maintaining an asset life plan
  • Contribute to the preparation of the Capital Investment Programme
  • Actively contribute to incident investigations, processes reviews and management team discussions
  • Ensure that risk assessments and safe systems of work are completed as required

About You:

We are seeking an experienced Shift Maintenance Engineer. Additionally, the following are essential requirements for the role:

  • A proactive approach to safety
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation – Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR’s), Health and Safety at Work Act, lifting operations and lifting equipment regulations (LOLER), provision and use of work equipment regulations, (PUWER) & CE marking
  • Contractor control, CDM
  • Permit writer
  • A team player with the ability to communicate and Influence at all levels.
  • Understanding of bottling lines/process engineering (SCADA / automation) equipment flow wrappers, wet wipe lines, bulk chemicals, packaging & wrappers, FMCG process equipment.
  • Understand drawings and P&ID’s / process flows
  • Welding / fabrication skills useful but not essential
  • Turning / millings skills useful but not essential.
  • Knowledge of TPM / RCA / FMECA / Lean Manufacturing Practices / techniques
  • Support autonomous maintenance implementation (AM/PM Calendar)
