INEOS has an exciting opportunity for a SHE Manager to join our INEOS Composites business at our Porvoo Plant (Finland) This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Porvoo Plant. This position will report to our Porvoo Plant Manager.
As SHE Manager in Porvoo Plant you will be part of the Management Team with the primary focus on Safety of employees & contractors linked to Porvoo facility (Manufacturing and Technology.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Improve the “Culture of prevention” at the site level:
- Lead the implementation of the 20 Principles (Process & Behavior Safety program), “Life Saving Rules”, IGGN (INEOS Group Guidance Notes), INEOS SHE Policies to improve safety and identify and minimize all risks.
- Lead the program BBS (Behavioral Based Safety) to improve participation in Safety of all employees and identify and minimize risks and risk behavior using the tools available.
- Manage the incident reporting system (Product Suite) and follow-up of actions.
- Participate in all RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for all SHE related incidents.
- Direct and supervise the emergency plan of the plant.
- Check and monitor the use of PPE on site facilities, and other safety equipment.
- Control activities of contractors at the plant and its compliance with SHE standards.
- Be responsible for environmental management of the plant including all aspects of it (studies, wastes, etc.).
- Check if operations of the plant are in accordance with environmental laws and regulations and health and safety at work.
- Prepare reports for the authorities (eg. environmental reporting).
- Organize and participate on SHE Committee.
- Develop and implement the relevant procedures and / or instructions from SHE.
- Ensure appropriate training of site personnel & contractors in SHE aspects.
- Define and manage the SHE budget (including environmental studies, PPE, uniforms & waste management).
- Participate on definition and implementation of SHE related capex.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
Level of education & Experience in general
- Master’s in suitable area (eg. chemistry, environmental engineer or equivalent).
Basic process knowledge is a must.
- Experience in a responsible position in the SHE department in industry.
- Experience in implementing risk reduction programs and improving behavior-based safety.
- Finnish is a must and good level of English. Shall attend meetings of international SHE where English is the language used. All INEOS guidance notes are in English. All reports are in English.
- Some experience in using databases and SAP.

- Able to work in a demanding environment in terms of safety requiring rapid actions.
- Ability to work closely with other departments throughout the plant.
