ABOUT OUR OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a SHE Facilitator to provide competent safety, health and environmental expertise to one of our Olefins & Polymers UK operating assets. This crucial enabling role will be support the delivery of SHE performance commitments in accordance with our policy, business objectives and asset strategies. The successful candidate will have a strong background in the development and implementation of management systems.

ABOUT YOU

You should:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for health and safety matters related to our operational Asset, providing competent advice and guidance to management and staff.
  • Advise the Asset Leadership team on all SHE aspects necessary to ensure conformance with management system requirements.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, including policies, standards and procedures, to ensure compliance with legal requirements and industry standards.
  • Stay informed of developments in Occupational Health and Safety regulations and best practices, and proactively update the Occupational Health and Safety Management System as required to reflect changes and improvements.
  • Engage, train and support staff in the requirements of health and safety standards and procedures, promoting a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, analyse root causes, and develop recommendations for corrective and preventive actions to minimise the risk of recurrence.
  • Liaise with external regulatory agencies and participate in inspections and audits as required.
  • Recommend and facilitate the implementation of SHE improvement initiatives aligned with Asset strategies to achieve a significant enhancement in SHE performance.
  • Uphold and advocate for the adoption of Ineos O&P UK and Ineos Group SHE processes, including Life Saving rules and 20 Principles.
  • Collaborate across the wider SHE function, leveraging specialist support in order to achieve Asset strategy objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Job holder expectation to be part of the Grangemouth Site IMT & MACC (Multi Agency Control Centre). (formal rota).
  • Job holder requirement to be contactable out of hours.
  • Support interaction with the Competent Authorities (HSE and SEPA).
  • Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) as member of formal Committee of Enquiry investigation team.
  • Technically competent and good communicator in order to deliver internal training courses and apprentice/graduate SHE inductions.

Qualifications, knowledge and Skills

  • Minimum of Diploma in SHE discipline (including Environmental Management element) e.g. NEBOSH
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant standards, including OSHA, BSI and ISO.
  • Track record of developing and implementing management system requirements, ideally in a high hazard, highly regulated industry.
  • Technical membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
  • >5 years’ experience in Manufacturing /operating environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and practically apply SHE legislation and regulations.
  • Pragmatic approach to the application of SHE policy in the manufacturing/operating environment.
  • Incident Investigation / Root cause analysis
  • High level of communication skills and demonstrated ability to interact and influence across all levels in the organisation.

You may also:

  • Have a recognised internal auditor qualification (ISO or equivalent)
  • Have experience of working with and implementing specialist SHE management system software
