Job Purpose

Provide competent Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) expertise to all FPS Project and TAR events, enabling legislative and INEOS FPS SHE requirements to be met, or where practicable, exceeded. Promote SHE excellence through delivery of continuous improvement across all set piece events; including SHE oversight of 3rd party contractor partner organisations.

KEY Accountabilities

  • Provide assurance and support to Project Management team to implement INEOS FPS SHE Management System requirements, including onsite verification of requirements, to support safe, reliable and compliant operations.
  • Responsible for providing SHE expertise to key business processes e.g. incident management, construction safety, risk management and assurance to support continued risk reduction.
  • Facilitate high quality action orientated SHE meetings to improve business performance and engagement e.g. Safety Representatives meeting
  • Define, roll out and track delivery of project Level 1 Assurance Plan, analysing outcomes to identify trends to improve compliance.
  • Responsible for conducting site based assurance activities to verify that Project activities are conducted in line with INEOS FPS management system and Construction Phase Plan requirements.
  • Provide oversight of 3rd party contractor SHE performance and resource, forming part of the INEOS FPS contract management team for selected contracts.
  • Consult and engage with the project workforce on health and safety matters, providing regular feedback to the key stakeholders.
  • Owns and delivers local inductions to Project & TARs contractors and INEOS FPS personnel, leading delivery of SHE campaigns.
  • Review and comment on safe system of work documentation submitted within contractor work packs for higher risk / unusual activities, supporting various risk assessment processes as required.
  • Promote and deliver SHEQ campaigns, working closely with safety representatives and asset personnel to drive SHE improvements.
  • Leads incident investigations and assurance activities to enable effective learning.
  • Responsible for providing training and expertise on the use of action management software (Synergi) within Projects to ensure SHE inputs are captured appropriately and outputs are visible to enable performance improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Engineering, Science, SHE or equivalent.
  • Chartered member of IOSH / IEMA or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

  • Strong project experience gained in high hazard environments.
  • Balanced experience of all aspects of Safety, Health and Environmental Management.
  • Experienced investigation lead and lead auditor.

Job-Specific Skills:

  • Track record of delivery and positively changing outcomes.
  • Track record of working productively in multi-disciplined teams.
  • Strong communication, engagement and coaching skills, with a capacity to influence SHE matters at all levels within the asset.
  • Experience in participating and leading incident investigation and audits.
  • Capability to analyse SHE performance data with a view to influence and improve delivery.

Job Knowledge Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of industry SHE legislation, permitting and reporting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of Construction, Design and Management Regulation (CDM) requirements.
  • Detailed understanding of management system principles and implementation.
