Senior Process and Flow Assurance Engineer

INEOS Energy operates a number of fields in the North Sea in both Denmark and the UK. In the UK this includes Breagh, Clipper South and the recently awarded Greater Pegasus Area licenses. 

 

About the Job  

We are looking for a Senior Process and Flow Assurance Engineer to support the Pegasus West project scope, along with other asset developments, projects and operations. They will work closely with other INEOS functions and with contractors for engineering studies, fabrication and construction. 

The role will report to the Head of Projects and Engineering UK functionally and to the Pegasus West Project Manager. 

 

Key responsibilities 

SHEQ 

  • Promote and advocate for INEOS safety principles and behaviors 
  • Ensure safety management systems are in place and functioning to ensure safe execution of Project and Engineering deliverables, including subsequent operation of the asset 

 

Process and Flow Assurance  

  • Develop or support development of key technical documents such as Scope of Work, Basis of Design and Functional Specification liaising cross functionally to co-ordinate the required inputs 
  • Ensure compliance with the relevant international standards and related INEOS Group Guidance Notes (IGGNs) 
  • Manage study work scopes executed by external contractors with a strong understanding of multidisciplinary workflows and interdependencies 
  • Ensure that all engineering and construction activities follow good engineering practice 
  • Ensure coordination with other disciplines and third-party tie-ins to ensure no gaps in design 
  • Responsible for review of relevant contractors engineering deliverables including but not limited drawings, data sheets and technical specifications 
  • Perform engineering calculations, simulations and assessments as necessary  
  • Review flow assurance assessment done by contractors and in some instances, perform these assessments 
  • Support INEOS existing operations as required 
  • Assist and participate in project / facilities assurance reviews (e.g., design reviews, ENVID, HAZID, HAZOPs) to ensure INEOS's safety and technical quality objectives are met 
  • Participate in risk management including preparation, maintenance and close out of risks identified in the risk register 
  • Develop scope and technical definition for the Define phase and provide input to the Define Invitation to Tender 
  • Ensure that experience and learnings from existing facilities are obtained from relevant parties and incorporated into the design 
  • Participate in technical reviews and facilities peer review prior to project decision gates 
  • Provide support in the development, maintenance and upgrade of governance documents, project model and engineering standards related to the Process discipline 

 

Technical Skills 

The following technical skills are desirable:  

  • Experienced in process design and modelling studies 
  • Significant static, dynamic and operational flow assurance experience  
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.  
  • Goal orientated mindset with the ability to solve problems and deliver pragmatic solutions  
  • Ability to take a lead to shape outcomes  
  • Strong written, presentation and communication skills.  
  • Capable of integrating into a team environment  
  • Strong experience typical software packages such as Hysys, Unisim, Pipesim, OLGA 
  • Proficient MS office package user

Education 

  • Degree level process engineering qualification, and  
  • Chartered engineer or Chartered Project Professional (ChPP)  

 

Location  

  • The role will be based in INEOS UKs offices in London and is predominantly office based. 
  • Frequent travel to contractors’ offices is envisaged.
