Main role purpose:
The post holder is responsible for developing and managing the Company's electrolyser technology, plant and associated supply chain to deliver new and improved capabilities/processes, reliability and capacity, whilst ensuring 100% compliance with all SHE and engineering standards.
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
- Responsible Mechanical Engineer for all relevant assets to ensure operation in full compliance with internal company and external statutory safety and engineering standards.
- Responsible for the third party supply of components and assemblies, including managing supplier quality and processes to ensure they meet business needs.
- Deliver the Capital Project plan and contribute to the development of the future growth strategy for the manufacturing and supply chain assets.
- Develop, assess and test aspects of in-house electrolyser technology to improve quality and performance and reduce cost.
- Support the engineering work for customer projects, ensuring timely delivery to specification.
Key skills & experience:
- Degree qualified Chartered Engineer with a strong mechanical and materials engineering background.
- Significant experience in engineering manufacturing/fabrication and workshop engineering equipment and processes, with gravitas and technical rigour.
- Experience in working with pipework and pressure systems and the requirements of PED/PER and PSSR.
- Analytical and problem solving such as FMEA, 5 Why, 8D.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience in Quality Management systems such as ISO 9001:2015.
- Experience with PUWER, LOLER, CE marking requirements and Machinery Directive.
- Good project management skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills at all levels.
