ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT & JOB PURPOSE

At INEOS Energy we produce and trade oil, gas, power, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and carbon credits. This is supported by our investments in low carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition. Direct examples of these areas are ‘Project Greensand’, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.

As Senior Low Carbon Originator you will build and manage a suite of low carbon tradable energy products. Alongside this you will be responsible for all Ineos Energy Trading’s carbon related activities, and work with other INEOS’s companies to develop and implement overall INEOS strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Self-generate a portfolio of low carbon products designed to maximise revenue and reduce risk, with an initial focus on biogas, ammonia, and voluntary carbon credits
Where necessary, work on developing all aspects of a supply chain to enable the delivery and monetisation of nascent low carbon energy products
Work with internal INEOS companies to build demand and/or meet their requirements for the supply of low carbon fuels
Generate leads through attending networking events, prospecting, and developing strategic external relationships
Monitor and interpret market and regulatory developments which could impact business opportunities
Crystalise opportunities through the development and negotiation of appropriate contractual structures
Direct management of one or more Carbon Originators
Responsible for all IETs carbon related activities, including management of the internal carbon portfolio

What does success look like?

Increase revenue stream for IET through the development of a low carbon portfolio of products
Develop and implement successful carbon purchase/sell strategies
Build a team known for their expert knowledge of the low carbon and carbon industry

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of the energy industry
Knowledge of nascent low carbon energy products, technologies, potential supply chains and use cases
High level of numeracy
Previous business development or origination experience
Undergraduate/Postgraduate degree
