Senior Group Accountant

Working alongside the Group Financial Controller to maintain the Group’s Financial and Management Accounts.

Accountabilities of the job:

  • Preparation of the IGH S.A. and INEOS Industries Ltd consolidated statutory accounts
  • Dealing with audit queries on IGH and Industries Groups
  • Preparation of IGH S.A. consolidated quarterly report
  • Dealing with quarterly reviews with auditors
  • Liaising with directors to obtain letters of support and letter of representation to facilitate signing of UK statutory accounts
  • Monthly review of IGH and Industries management accounts
  • Coordinate and supervise the consolidation of annual budgets for the whole of INEOS including the preparation of budget review slides
  • Preparation of Group budget (desk charges and management fees)
  • Calculation of virtual debt charges
  • Preparation of slides for Group CFO and Group FC
  • Involvement with Group refinancings including assisting with the preparation of an Offering Memorandum
  • Ad-hoc project support e.g. 5 year plan
  • Lead and develop Group Financial Accountant
  • Work closely with Group tax and treasury team
  • Ensure timely reporting of Foreign Subsidiary Regulation and turnover analysis to Group Legal department for submission to competition authorities
  • Provide ad-hoc support to Group CFO and FC as required
  • Maintain and update the Group Accounting manual and provide support for any ad-hoc technical accounting queries from the businesses
  • Provide insight into the Group's externally reported results and other financial information based on a strong technical understanding of IFRS
  • Manage relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the Group's objectives with regards to financial and regulatory reporting are met.
  • Make a key contribution towards the delivery of Group Finance projects, including in respect of corporate activity (e.g. accounting for acquisitions/disposals), finance system developments and the implementation of new accounting standards
  • Take responsibility for a robust control environment, overseeing the design and operation of controls over reporting processes, review and challenge of business submissions and driving continuous process improvement with respect to both quality and efficiency
  • Plan the year-end processes, including liaison and key point of contact with the external auditors; preparing the external audit and reporting timetable

Performance Indicators:

  • Development of the Group Accountant
  • Ensure group reporting is IFRS compliant and any business technical accounting queries are answered satisfactory and in a timely manner
  • The timely and accurate production of internal reports within the necessary deadline
  • Achieving the signing deadlines for the annual audited consolidated IFRS accounts for both the IGH SA and INEOS Industries Ltd groups
  • The IGH SA quarterly report being issued in line with the investor timetable
  • Provide accurate and timely support for ad-hoc requests and projects from the Group CFO and Group FC
