Senior Electrical/Instrument Engineer

Main job purpose

Job holder will manage the Site Services E/I engineering team and will be responsible for all statutory and codal engineering responsibilities for an asset/area. They will lead the Site Services electrical, control, and instrumentation asset management across Runcorn Site(s) to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the plants.

Key responsibilities & accountabilities

  • Ensure that all E/I systems and equipment comply with legislative and INEOS SHE standards and policies whilst operating at a best in class, safe and effective manner.
  • To lead the planning and implementation of E/I maintenance activities on the asset(s); manage and monitor the E/I fixed cost budget within agreed targets.
  • To ensure that E/I engineering problems are investigated and solutions implemented that meet SHE and performance standards.
  • To develop and implement the E/I engineering strategy that ensures the asset(s) integrity and compliance with legislative and company standards.
  • Ensure that the E/I engineering procedures and actions taken fully comply to legislative and INEOS standards.

Key skills and knowledge required 

  • An Engineering degree with a minimum of 10 years’ post graduate experience.
  • Engineering chartership or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of E/I engineering on a Chemical production unit.
  • Detailed knowledge & experience of BS EN 61511 lifecycle, DSEAR, EAWR.
  • People management skills.
  • Maintenance management skills.
  • SHE leadership and auditing.
  • Planning and Budgeting skills.
  • Good awareness of regulatory and legal framework.
  • Awareness of employment and contract law.
