Senior Control Electrical Engineer

Job Purpose

Lead the control and electrical asset management to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of the facilities and the development of new and existing R&D and Manufacturing equipment. The jobholder will also provide electrical engineering functional expertise on the Company external projects and advise clients across the customer base on electrical operational issues. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as the business expert and technical lead for Control and Electrical engineering in IES
  • Establish and manage appropriate E/I engineering standards to achieve compliance with defined Statutory and Company codes and regulations.
  • Provide leadership for Control and Electrical projects and improvements
  • Anticipate, identify and resolve issues to a high standard to improve production operation, reduce costs, improve quality and support planned change.
  • Specify and arrange execution of scheduled and unscheduled C/E maintenance work to enable plants to produce at budgeted levels meeting SHE requirements.
  • Ensure that the IES electrochemical products are designed to be safe and to comply with any relevant regulatory standards from an electrical engineering viewpoint.

Key Skills and Experience

  • An engineering degree with significant post graduate experience
  • Detailed knowledge & experience of BS EN 61511 lifecycle, DSEAR, EAWR.
  • Detailed knowledge & experience of BS7671: IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Hazardous Area installations and maintenance, CompEX EX01-04 and EX14 desirable
  • Engineering chartership or substantial relevant experience
  • Knowledge of rectifier specification, operation, commissioning beneficial.
  • Expert Control and Electrical engineering skills including design, development and troubleshooting.
  • Strong technical safety leadership and understanding of relevant legislation and standards.
  • Practical experience of plant control and electrical systems commissioning, operation and maintenance.
  • Proven experience in control electrical technologies in a manufacturing environment with expertise in a regulated industry.
  • Excellent analytical approach
  • Strong problem solving skills with the ability to provide innovative solutions
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a variety of cultures and at different organisational levels
