INEOS Aromatics is seeking an Sr. Applications and Project Manager.   The Sr. Applications and Project Manager will provide direct support in the maintenance of the company's global business applications, as well as the management of projects relating to the implementation of new applications, with the objective of improving business performance through technology. The IT Application estate consists of 150+ Applications that deliver critical services for SHE, Financial, Commercial, Manufacturing, and Operational processes for 6 facilities in the US, EU, and Asia.

What You Will Do:

SERVICE MANAGEMENT

• Leads in the analysis of project proposals; identifies potential problem areas, and recommends optimum approaches for project path, utilizing specific area of technical expertise.
• Contributes to the strategy and maintenance of the business's global applications portfolio.
• Leads in the procurement, implementation, installation, and testing of applications software and other integrated information systems.
• Leads in the occasional development of custom business applications, as well as to the development of interfaces and databases.

COST EFFICIENCY

• Actively develops programs to improve business performance and lower costs in the IT environment.
• Recommends, Develops, and Maintains standards for development and administration
• Provides recommendations on system architecture for new applications or integrated systems.

OPERATIONS SUPPORT

• Uses established fact-finding procedures, knowledge of pertinent processes and procedures, and familiarity with related programming practices, software, and hardware to provide required analysis of user problems.
• Directs system level support for computer software as needed
• Works closely with other IT team members to coordinate on multiple tasks including issue resolution, system design, system enhancements, etc.
• Provides mentoring and training for the rest of the staff in the applications support team
• Leads in the development of training materials and assists in conducting training sessions and workshops during the rollout of new or modified applications, or as needed

VENDOR MANAGEMENT

• Closely monitors the service delivery performance of our key 3rd party providers and implements corrective actions and/or initiates continuous improvement initiatives when required.
• Manages application development projects, including coordination of work done by 3rd parties.
• Directs the work of project team members (both INEOS and 3rd Party) for large scale projects.

SECURITY / IMPROVEMENT

• Executes robust Management of Change processes when deploying new reporting platforms.
• Proactively works to improve the business's IT security performance.
• Works closely with peers in other INEOS businesses to share best practice experiences.
• Is proactive in improving user support, system administration and procedures
• Evaluates new and existing solutions on cyber security assurance in alignment with the INEOS security policies.

What You Will Bring:

Education / Experience

• Bachelors degree in computer-related field and minimum 10 years’ experience with multiple-platform application management/support.

Technical:

• Understands highly complex aspects of a wide range of technologies and performs work without supervision.  Recognized as an expert in one or more fields.
• Experience in and understanding of petrochemicals business processes is a plus
• Familiarity with development and maintenance of SQL or Oracle databases.
• Experience managing large-scale application development projects
• Is a recognized authority in one or more technologies or business processes
• Able to diagnose and solve complex, rare technical or process issues, and evaluate impact on business.  Is sometimes called upon by other organizations to assist in problem resolution. Able to provide multiple, creative alternative solutions as required.
