Purpose of the job:

The SAP MM/SD Functional Developer & Analyst within Global Acetyls will utilize their extensive business process knowledge and SAP experience to provide from inception of business process analysis through development, testing and delivery of solutions to the business; ensuring the appropriate systems and business processes are developed to meet the requirements of the business.

The post holder will be an expert in the area of Materials Management and have a good knowledge of Sales & Distribution with hands on responsible for delivering system services, enhancements and projects principally in the area of Materials Management, but also Sales & Distribution, which will require proactive collaboration with other business functions and 3rd parties to ensure the ongoing system integrity and stability, enabling businesses to operate in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Provide Business Analysis support to the business and being capable of delivering the appropriate development of the systems and business processes ensuring they continue to meet the requirements of the businesses.

Perform Configuration of the SAP systems using the MM & SD modules that aligns with the proposed solutions as defined and agreed with the business during business analysis.

Perform testing and the development of test scenarios including the automation of the testing thereof.

Provide daily monitoring MM & SD issues including data integrity and rectify any issues through proactive collaboration with the Acetyls functions, 3rd parties and other IT functions, to ensure the ongoing system integrity and stability, enabling businesses to operate in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

Provide expertise within their functional area on the use and appropriate development of the systems and business processes, ensure they continue to meet the requirements of the businesses.

Accountabilities:

  • Analyze, assess, and document business requirements, compile functional & technical specifications to propose ERP solutions & business processes, to ensure the systems continue to meet business requirement.

  • Develop options and recommendations for the businesses on how they can utilize SAP and related applications to the full, improving productivity or reducing business costs.

  • Perform configuration and deliver ERP systems enhancements and projects on time and within cost targets.

  • Deliver support for SAP, through proactive monitoring and collaboration with the Acetyls business functions, 3rd parties and other Acetyls IT functions, to ensure the ongoing system integrity and stability, enabling businesses to operate in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

  • Work with support and Infrastructure partners to monitor and resolve issues on interfaces and batch jobs.

  • Constant monitoring of users’ issues raised, implementing the solutions identified and follow up to closure to achieve user satisfaction.

  • Coach / train Team Members, Super Users & users to establish good practices across the user base on a common set of system processes.

  • Be involved in Systems Governance and Demand Management.

  • SAP Integration definition and support.

  • Project manage the delivery of projects to time, quality, and cost.

  • Whilst the specialty of this role is primarily Materials Management, it is also expected that this role provides cover for and understands the Sales & Distribution components of the SAP environment due to the global nature of the role.

Level of Education & Experience:

  • Business process (Materials Management / Sales & Distribution) experience in chemical industry essential.

  • SAP MM/SD Process modules qualifications preferred.

  • 3 Successful full life-cycle implementations of SAP MM essential.

  • Experience with ERP systems including project experience from an IT perspective and documenting process preferred.

  • Track record in change management essential

Technical Skills:

  • Knowledge of relevant industry practices and processes.

  • Knowledge of business processes.

  • Technical configuration experience in SAP Materials Managment and Sales & Distribution essential; at least 3 full project cycles and 2 years of support.

Behavioral skills:

  • Self-motivated individual with passion for service delivery and attention to detail.

  • Highly numerate & analytical.

  • Strong networking and influencing skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Fluency in written and spoken English required, Mandarin is optional.
