Sales Manager

Main Purpose

The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and successfully executing a regional sales growth strategy to profitably grow sales year over year. The Sales Manager is also responsible for the assigned sales region's sales, margin, and selling expenses.

The Sales Manager is responsible for providing sales support for each distribution channel. These activities include but are not limited to meeting with existing and potential new clients to promote the use of PIA, TMA, sulfur dioxide, and sulfur dioxide derivatives, and develop relationships with polymer producers, CASE manufacturers and inorganic salts customers, in new applications, contract management, finding new opportunities within the current customer base as well as finding new applications and/or customers within a specified territory or industry.

One critical aspect of this role is contract management, the Sales Manager ensures that contracts are effectively managed and contributes to our overall sales strategy.

Location

Remote – Preference given to candidates in Texas, Louisiana or North Carolina.  Midwest applicants may also be considered.  West Coast applicants will not be considered.

RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES

Principal Accountabilities

  • Lead the strategic efforts of INEOS Joliet and INEOS Calabrian for regional customers, to identify, plan and deliver on priorities to grow market share, revenue and/or EBITDA in the industrial sector.
  • Establish a pipeline of new customers opportunities in emerging markets.
  • Manage the Distribution Channel, make joint calls, and be a conduit between distribution partner and the business.
  • Prepare complete, clear, and concise quotes/proposals/bids for customers.
  • Demonstrate an overall knowledge of company’s product line, modes of transportation, end uses, manufacturing processes, technical information and competition.
  • Perform routine account management functions such as client site visits, manage price adjustments based on index, timely submission of commercial proposals, long term development of client relationships, assist the coordinator in support of the account, and document sales visit reports, sales call planning, accounts receivable, etc.
  • Provide direction to sales support and customer service departments; resolve customer complaints regarding sales and service.
  • Provide sales forecasts and business summaries on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Work closely with our technical team to build relationships in some of our high service accounts and follow thru with after-sale technical support
  • Assist management in developing annual sales budget and target accounts.
  • Understand the financial performance of the business and the impact pricing, marketing, and net working capital decisions have on the earnings performance of the business.
  • Travel up to 50% to customer offices and operation sites as needed.
  • Other duties as may be required.

Skills & Knowledge Required

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or >3 years of experience in a chemical sales
  • >5 years of experience servicing PET, UPR, CASE, water treatment, chlor alkali, sulfonation, or sulfur derivatives customers with a hands-on background in sales or business development is preferred
  • Knowledge of petrochemical industry preferred

  • Excellent negotiation and rational persuasion skills.
  • Ability to appropriately deal with and prioritize multiple & changing site priorities based on business needs.
  • Self-control capacity to deal with challenging situations and or individuals.
  • Self-motivated, and enjoy working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced 24/7 environment.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal skills and advanced communication skills; both written and verbal.
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Suite and Dynamics CRM.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the individual will perform primarily office tasks requiring repetitive use of hands; however, may be required to enter production areas to understand and scope project needs. Minimum requirements include:

  • Being able to work at a desk and operate routine items such as a computer and calculator; close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • Able to drive and travel by air or other means at regular frequencies with exposure to travel-related weather conditions, perhaps including frequent and/or significant time zone changes.
  • Maintaining constant awareness of personal safety and the safety of all other personnel. This includes knowledge of INEOS 20 Safety Principles and other safety procedures and rules, which are posted at each INEOS facility.
  • Being able to wear the appropriate PPE when inside the facility.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience in the role, industry experience, education, and other qualifications.
