Job Title: Reservoir Engineer               Department: Subsurface & Development

Summary of Position
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Reservoir Engineer to play a pivotal role in our newly formed US onshore division.  You will lead the evaluation, characterization, and optimization of our unconventional reservoirs, and work with a multi-disciplinary technical team to create and implement full field asset strategies that maximize return on investment and value generation.  Your expertise will also drive excellence not only in reservoir management but also to progress the development programs undertaken by the US onshore division. 

Responsibilities

  • Optimize reservoir performance and maximize best economic hydrocarbon recovery from unconventional reservoirs using modeling, analytics and diagnostics.
  • Direct and evaluate reservoir well planning and design strategies to maximize recovery value, with focus on wellbore placement, length, spacing and hydraulic fracturing strategies.
  • Analyze reservoir data, production history, and well performance to identify opportunities for enhancing recoveries and production rates. 
  • Monitor and analyze production performance using methods such as decline curve analysis, pressure transient analysis, and rate transient analysis, to ensure reliable production forecasting and type curve representation. 
  • Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and production engineers to integrate geological, geophysical, and petrophysical data into reservoir models
  • Oversee flowback and production methodologies focused on maximizing value recovery from the reservoir. 
  • Lead various reservoir engineering workflows, including internal/external reserves exercises, type curve generation, development planning and readiness efforts, reforecasting/budgeting exercises, technical lookbacks, and external benchmarking
  • Perform economic evaluations to assess the viability of projects, development plans, and reservoir evaluations
  • Provide M&A evaluation support in coordination with business development team. 
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports, presentations, and project updates for internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to onshore unconventional reservoir engineering.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety in all activities.

Qualifications

  • Authorization to work in the USA
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in reservoir engineering, with a focus on onshore unconventional oil and gas reservoirs.
  • Proficiency in tools and systems used for reservoir characterization and technical/economic analysis (eg. ComboCurve, ARIES, Harmony, Spotfire, Enersight, etc) as well as basic MS Office products.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillset, with capabilities of dealing with large datasets and statistical approaches
  • Notable ability to interpret large complex reservoir data and provide actionable insights.
  • Strong understanding of geology, reservoir mechanics, fluid flow, and production optimization techniques.
  • Experience with standard reservoir engineering principles and evaluation workflows, such as well performance analysis, pressure transient analysis, and decline curve analysis.
  • Familiarity with economic analysis and project evaluation methods, with hands on experience with conducting economic evaluations in unconventional basins.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to indirectly lead and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and summarize conclusions and recommendations clearly
  • Demonstrated commitment to adhering high standards in regards to safety and environment.

Relocation:

Preferential treatment will be granted to candidates residing in the Denver, Colorado metropolitan area.

Compensation & Benefits

Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act (EPEWA) and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation.

Compensation:

The annual rate for this position generally ranges between $120,000 - $165,000 with an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, of up to 27% of eligible pay. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs, business performance to metrics, and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.
