Reservoir Engineer Simulation Expert

At INEOS Energy we produce and trade oil, gas, power, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and carbon credits. This is supported by our investments in low carbon technologies, which will help sustain our business through the energy transition. Direct examples of these areas are ‘Project Greensand’, our pioneering carbon storage project in the Danish North Sea and our investment in HydrogenOne Capital.

We are looking for a Reservoir Engineering Modelling Expert to support the Reservoir Engineering field development activities.

In this pivotal role, you'll be delving into reservoir simulation in-depth, playing a crucial part in our decision-making process for reservoir management and field development. Daily, you'll be constructing and refining reservoir models, analyzing a myriad of data sets, and leveraging cutting-edge simulation tools to extrapolate future reservoir performance. Beyond the technical, you’ll engage in regular collaboration with geoscientists, production engineers, and other team members to share insights, propose optimization strategies, and contribute to the projects. This role offers a blend of hands-on technical work, strategic planning, and cross-disciplinary collaboration, making it perfect for those who are passionate about both the granular details and the bigger picture.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Work independently on sector and full field models of the INEOS operated fields in the Southern North Sea
  • Generate a variety of models based on different scenarios, geological and reservoir engineering uncertainty analysis.
  • Rank the models using dynamic simulation and come up with representative P10, P50 and P90 models and the corresponding production profiles.
  • Define optimum well locations, length, and orientation and optimum well count,
  • Model various development concepts and help choose the optimum development concept.
  • History matching of existing well performance in sector and larger scale models.
  • Interact on a regular basis with the reservoir engineering, G & G, and teams from other disciplines.
  • Support peer views as and when required.
