Purpose of role

  1. Loss Elimination; Develops a plan to eliminate or reduce the losses through root cause analysis, obtains approval of the plan and facilitates the implementation.’
  2. Risk Management; Manage risk to the achievement of an organization’s strategic objectives in the areas of environmental health and safety, asset capability, quality and production.
  3. Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM); To be involved in the design and installation stages of projects for new assets and modification of existing assets.

Key Results/Accountabilities expected from role

Works with Maintenance Department and Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations. Responsible for adhering to the Life Cycle Asset Management (LCAM) process throughout the entire life cycle of new assets.

  1. Participates in the development of design and installation specifications along with commissioning plans. Participates in the development of criteria for and evaluation of equipment and technical MRO suppliers and technical maintenance service providers. Develops acceptance tests and inspection criteria.
  2. Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
  3. Guides efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems.
  4. Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an Asset Maintenance Plan that includes: Value-added preventive maintenance tasks, Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
  5. Provides input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.
  6. Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues.
  7. Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
  8. Applies value analysis to repair/replace, repair/redesign, and make/buy decisions.
  9. Responsible as rotating equipment authority
  10. Manage and ensure the implementation of the Maintenance sub process and responsible partially for the Manage Quality and Manage Quality System process in order compliance to Government Policy and INEOS Policy. Aiming to achieve production targets as per the capacity installed and meet the quality standards.
  11. Take a part on implementation of 20 principles Behavior safety and Process safety.

Key challenges faced on the role

The different goals and objectives in each department/section in handling a project have an impact on the life cycle cost of an equipment. So far, the initial cost has always been the most prioritized thing without considering the cost over the entire life of the equipment.

 

 

 

Experience & Expertise

  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Experience (years and nature):

 

  1. Min. 10 years experienced petrochemical plant/oil and gas/power plant as mechanical/rotating equipment/reliability engineer.
  2. Well understand with vibration and lube oil analysis for rotating equipment
  3. Familiar with condition monitoring tools and software (online and off line)
  4. Well understand with rotating equipment including turbo machinery
  5. Well understand with rotating equipment parts replacement, upgrade and procurement
  6. Having knowledge about Root Casuse Analysis and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis.
  7. Understanding process for fabrication, machining and repaired equipment
  8. Familiar with international standard and applicable code for rotating equipment such as API 610/670/612/617/682.
  9. Familiar with CMMS and MS office software.
  10. Understood inspection basic philosophy.
