Regional Sales Representative

As part of the commercial team of INEOS Acetyls Asia business, this role will be contributing to regional commercial activities in dynamic market and to achieve the best commercial value for INEOS.

Internal factors:

The candidate should possess good knowledge in international trading activities (commodity market), good compliance sense and a great team player. This role requires extensive communication and collaboration with multiple stakeholders, it may cover internal extended team members and external with customer/JVs/vendor/service providers. Self-motivation and positive attitude towards fast-moving market and overcome challenges. Result oriented to achieve business objective set by management.

External factors:

This role requires good negotiation skill and interpersonal skills to handle businesses with exposure to multicultural environments in South Asia and Southeast Asia. The candidate is capable of handling and adapt to culture difference to cooperate closely with JVs and customers from different countries within the territory assigned.

Accountabilities of the job

  • Under leadership of Regional Sales Manager, this role needs to be responsible for customers portfolio in SEA & SA including maintaining regular communication with customers, traders and internal stakeholders
  • Key SPA to negotiate price, volume, payment terms, sales contracts and shipping schedules with term/spot customers
  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop term customer offers and negotiate term supply contracts with existing and new customers
  • Gather market intelligence and maintain a detailed understanding of the competitive environment for Acetic Acid and its derivatives market of SEA & SA
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual sales forecasts for supply allocation planning and marketing analysis
  • Assimilate and analyse market information, to provide insights on sales, marketing projects and analysis studies
  • Work closely with the logistics team on operation planning, shipment scheduling, shippers-related concerns and reducing disputes
  • Resolve issues in regard to shipment, vessel operation, supply chain, quality, service etc. for enhanced customer satisfaction and engagement
  • Work closely with customers to keep updated on their operations/sales, project development updates, financial status and etc
  • Formulate and implement SEA & SA market strategies and tactics to optimize product margin
  • Assess credit worthiness when required and sort out issues pertaining to financial instruments

Required profile: 

Level of education & experience in general

  • University degree in relevant field or extensive professional experience
  • 4 – 5 years in sales and marketing, preferably experience in commodity chemical business.
  • Track record of sales achievement
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with the ability to conduct business negotiations effectively in both languages.
  • Fluency in all Microsoft applications
  • Personable and diplomatic in handling clients from all levels and multi-countries.
