Job Title:

Regional Category Manager

Location:

Texas City, TX

Role synopsis:

The Regional Category Manager is a member of the US Aromatics Procurement leadership team and is accountable for overall category management and delivery for the assigned categories across the Americas region. The Regional Category Manager leads the development and delivery of Strategies and Recommendations For Awards related to specific products and services within the business. The role requires influencing and aligning senior cross functional stakeholders ahead of board level governance reviews. The Regional Category Manager will also sit on the Texas City site leadership team and provide direction, coaching, training, and career development for site-based Procurement employees.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Supplier Management:

Manage supplier relationship, build and manage a network with suppliers
Monitor Key Supplier performance metrics and provide feedback accordingly

Contract Management:

Negotiate prices and supply agreements in accordance with business and legal requirements; ensures the implementation of contracts and price agreements
Make sure the suppliers are compliant with the group rules and policies (legal, sustainability, code of conduct)

Stakeholder's Network:

Develop close relationship with internal stakeholders to understand company/plant needs current and future for categories of responsibility, incorporate defined needs into category strategy annually; and support the business to source the required service / raw material needed for them to be successful
Communicate and monitor the implementation of new supply agreements to Plants
Provide relevant information to the stakeholders & reporting on category to key stakeholders / management when appropriate (results)

Costs Management:

Analyze category specific markets and cost drivers; perform internal and external benchmarks
Identify and promote saving potential and best practices
Ensure category savings are reported in the system

Skills & Knowledge Required:

Education/Experience:

BS degree in Engineering, supply chain management, operations management, business administration or related field with MBA preferred.
5 or more years of Procurement experience
Recent Regional/Category management experience in chemical or oil and gas preferred

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, cross-functional projects and ensure successful completion.
Demonstrated ability to lead others.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Sphere of influence – ability to influence, mediate, and persuade
Well-rounded and experienced Procurement professional with sound business acumen
Ability to lead and drive the execution of the regional category management agenda
Dedicated and engaged partner who strongly engages with both the business and the Global Procurement organization to enhance collaboration
