Regional Category Buyer Logistics "Seafreight, Airfreight, Barging" (F/M/D)
The offered position is part of the European procurement organization of INEOS Styrolution and reports to the Head of Indirect Spend - Logistics EMEA. The position can be performed at the company locations Frankfurt (head office), Antwerp or Cologne.
The Regional Category Buyer (RCB) Logistics "Seafreight, Airfreight, Barging" is responsible for several indirect logistics procurement categories as a strategic buyer.
Your perspective:
- Within our team of logistics buyers you will take over the categories containerized seafreight, airfreight and barging.
- You will be responsible for the procurement of pan-European ocean freight and will coordinate the annual global tender as project leader
- In order to ensure large parts of the liquid raw material supply, you will also procure the required barging capacity for our Western European production sites
- For situations of urgent demand, you will create the contractual and commercial basis for smooth air freight handling
- You will be in intensive and constructive alignment with all relevant internal stakeholders (such as but not limited to Supply Chain and production site logistics)
- In addition to internal communication channels, you will also be responsible for external communication with logistics service providers
- Besides the preparation and analysis of tender documents, your core activities include negotiations and the subsequent contract creations
- Outside of the established tendering cycles, you will work on corresponding logistics optimization projects (partly also as project leader)
- At regular intervals, you will exchange information within the overarching INEOS logistics network
- To ensure cost-optimal procurement, you will support in the review and control of the commercially agreed rate structure
- The development of new strategies and the sustainable management of an active supplier relationship process complete your profile
Your profile:
- Degree in economics, business administration, Supply Chain Management or commercial apprenticeship in the field of shipping or general logistics
- Strong experience (3-5 years) in procurement, preferable in logistics categories
- Existing project experience in an international business environment (minimum 3 years)
- Experience and proven track record in the liner shipping industry of great advantage
- Project experience with respect to leading and moderating cross-functional and international teams
- Experience in tender management including the creation, implementation and monitoring of the related procurement strategy
- Structured, analytical and independent working style coupled with a team-oriented and communicative approach
- Fluent in English and German, further language skills would be an advantage
- Good knowledge of MS Office and SAP applications
- Willingness to work and travel within an international business environment
- Knowledge of the barging & airfreight market
