RBI Analyst - Meridium Coordinator

Role synopsis:

The position works jointly with the Lead Inspector, Inspection team and the Fixed Equipment Technical Authority to provide assurance for compliance with the site’s integrity management programs for fixed equipment and piping to eliminate loss of containment incidents that could result in process safety or environmental events.

The position serves as the administrator of the Meridium inspection database and a champion of the Risk Based Inspection (RBI) program.

Key Accountabilities

  • Champions safe work practices among work group and contractors
  • Manages and coordinates the risk based inspection (RBI) program for fixed equipment and piping. Has overall responsibility for the RBI work process (coordinates input between corrosion, materials, inspection process, maintenance, and operations) to include review and analysis of equipment design, operating conditions, and data resulting in risk rankings and prioritization of inspection plans.
  • Coordinate the development of RBI models with associated inspection plans.  This includes soliciting the appropriate expertise.
  • Establish inspection intervals and strategies based on RBI methodologies for fixed equipment (vessels, columns, piping, exchangers, etc.) and RBI evergreen process
  • Administrator of the Meridium Inspection Database Management System which includes:
  • Serving as the primary contact for all activities associated with the Meridium Inspection module.
  • Maintaining the integrity of the Meridium Inspection database.
  • Determining the need for ongoing and periodic training for Meridium users.
  • Preparing monthly Meridium health metrics and assist Inspectors in closing identified gaps.
  • Developing and running Meridium reports as required
  • Periodically audits quality and compliance of inputs into the Meridium database compared to API/regulatory requirements
  • Supports development of long-term equipment reliability and replacement plans through data analysis and thickness monitoring program
  • Assist the TAR Superintendent and Lead Inspector with cost control for inspection related items and initiates methods for improving performance
  • Interfaces with manufacturing teams and other customers regularly to ensure their needs are met
  • Participate in the routine review of inspection activities & findings through the self-verification process as needed
  • Evaluates corrosion monitoring data, predicts equipment life, and adjusts inspection intervals as required
  • Maintains inspection records and adjusts inspection intervals as necessary for all planned inspections
  • Interprets code requirements for inspections and repairs, provides technical expertise on codes/standards
  • Provides facility inspection plans and support needed for incorporation into TAR execution plans.
  • Update the RBI models with inspection data following unit TAR’s.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the corrosion mechanisms in units, as represented in the corrosion control documents (CCDs).
  • Participate in the MOC work process regarding changes to or impacts to RBI models, CCD’s, and C&MD’s.
  • Monitor corrosion variables for compliance to agreed limits and communicate concerns to Operations when limits have been exceeded.
  • Review forward month inspection schedules for obstacles to compliance.
  • Recommend engineering or technical studies to eliminate recognized design and/or maintenance problems
  • Ensures compliance to TCC and INEOS SHE policies and promotes INEOS 20 Principles

Education and Experience:

Required

  • 10+ years oil and/or chemical industrial experience
  • Inspection Database Management System experience  
  • Must have excellent communications skills in English

Preferred

  • BS Degree
  • 3+ yrs RBI experience
  • Meridium RBI software knowledge
  • Meridium IDMS knowledge
  • Certifications API-581, API-653, API-571

  • Operations Competencies – Process Equipment & Drawings
