Raw Materials Planner

The Position: 

Raw Materials Planner - This position is responsible for ensuring the cost effective on time availability of Raw Materials at the ASA manufacturing site in Bayport, TX across a complex supply network of owned manufacturing sites, third party toll manufactures, warehouses and trans-loading facilities while achieving an optimal balance between demand and supply that achieves our overall working capital targets and secure production continuity.

What you will do: 

Raw Material Planning 50%

  • Responsible for control of the entire planning process from the production schedule demand through the supply plan with Procurement and Suppliers for Raw Materials and package supplies.
  • Provide historical and forecasted daily, monthly, and annual reporting to all areas of the business. This includes Procurement, inventory, and production.
  • A liaison to the commercial team.  This includes giving direction and providing data as to capacities, costs, and Suppliers abilities.
  • Take part on monthly S&OP process and DOH ("days on hand") Inventory Analyses
  • A liaison to quality control team to ensure raw materials meet our quality specifications.

Inventory Management 50%

  • Maintain and manage targeted Raw Material inventory while controlling costs to do so and secure Safety Stocks to keep the production schedule.
  • Responsible for certain tolling activities including planning, scheduling, and inventory management of tolled material (Master Batches).
  • Maintain inventory at 3rd party warehouses and offsite rail yard while controlling storage costs based on capacity demands. This includes transfer order creation in SAP and monitoring in-transit as well as on-site inventory.
  • Coordinate with site logistics to manage on-site and off-site inventory. This may include multiple modes of delivery such as truck, rail, vessel, and pipeline.

What you will bring: 

  • Level of education & knowledge:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management or Business or relevant work experience.
    • Minimum of 3 years related experience. 
  • Experience in general: ​​​
    • Strong background in inventory management
    • Extensive production scheduling skills
    • Knowledge of complete supply chain from Suppliers to Production 
  • Technical skills:
    • ​​Strong computer skills in Excel, and other MS Office applications. 
    • Emphasis on SAP functionality
    • Beneficial - CPIM or APICS certified  
  • Competencies, Behavioral skills:
    • ​​​​​​Demonstrated ability to lead others.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to make quick calculated decisions.
    • Good organization skills, ability to prioritize and handle competing demands on a daily basis.

    • Sphere of influence – ability to influence, mediate, and persuade
    • Change Management – effective change management and conflict management experience
