about the role

Reporting to the Projects Manager, the holder is responsible for managing the Project Services function and for the provision of resources and systems to support the Project Management team. As well as, when required, support the Decommissioning Manager to develop and deliver the agreed projects within the schedule and cost performance targets set by the INEOS FPS organisation in all project areas connected to planning, cost estimating, document control, completions and business reporting. In addition, the Project Services Manager will make recommendations to improve business performance and meet regulatory/compliance requirements.

What does the day to day look like?

  • Adhere to and be responsible for the promotion of Ineos 20 Principles and 7 Life Saving Rules to team, colleagues and external suppliers and vendors’
  • Lead a group of up to 10 internal and external resources focused on Project Services support; estimating, planning, document control, completions and management system reporting / PowerBI.
  • Appoint and coach estimating, planning, document control and completions resources to the different projects across all phases of a project or a minor-mod lifecycle (Internal and External).
  • Assist Project Management team in the development of project cost estimate. schedule and completions roadmaps for every project prior to full sanction and in alignment with FPS business requirements.
  • Provide timely input in the early project stages to ensure costs and schedules associated to construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning strategies and associated contracting strategies are fully incorporated in the project.
  • Assess project costs and progress vs. baseline and provide insights and information to the Project Management team in case of deviation and assist in the definition of potential remediation actions.
  • Define and implement appropriate project controls to deliver management information (PowerBI) information and document control including SharePoint ownership, necessary to achieve sanctioned cost and schedule commitments.
  • Represent projects services organization interests early in the contracts with external parties to ensure that estimates, plans and progress & forecast reports are in line with FPS’s requirements in terms of detail, quality, update frequency, structure and system inter-operability.
  • Manage a multi-discipline team (Internal and External).
  • Ability to lead and influence works projects from minor modification to large projects.
  • Ability to work closely with external contractors and accurately define FPS’s needs relating to project reporting, planning, estimating, document control, completions and reporting.
  • Ability to interface effectively with site managers and business managers.
  • Ability to identify and manage interfaces within the Project team, including engineering and construction contractor teams.
  • Ability to monitor, identify and manage uncertainty across own project portfolio.
  • Challenge existing working practices and propose improvements.
  • Defines, owns and implements the project services process and standards.
  • Good decision-making skills within all aspects of project services management.
  • Ability to recruit, coach and develop resources under project services.

what do I need?

  • Degree qualified experienced Engineer or equivalent with a variety of experience in project management services roles.
  • Strong knowledge of project services processes and best practices.
  • Experience in setting up and running functions.
  • Experience working with EPC and EPCM contractors in definition of project services criteria to be applied under the defined contracting strategy.
  • Experienced in the definition and use of estimating, planning and reporting applications and tools (e.g. Primavera, PowerBI, SharePoint, Microsoft TEAMs.).

Formal Interview

Successful applicants will be invited to face to face interview, which will consist of behavioural and technical questions. For some roles the recruitment process may also include technical testing, behaviour questionnaires and/ or a delivering a presentation.

Pre-employment process

Before commencing work with INEOS FPS you will need to complete our pre-employment screening process. This will consist of a pre-employment medical, employment history reference and qualification verification check. Some roles may also require a criminality check.
