Project Services Manager

INEOS Energy operates a number of fields in the North Sea in both Denmark and the UK. In the UK this includes Breagh, Clipper South and the recently awarded Greater Pegasus Area licenses.  

 

About the Job  

We are looking for a Project Services Manager to support the Pegasus West project and the wider business. The role is to be responsible for carrying out and managing Project Services activities (planning and scheduling, cost control, reporting risk management and change control) for Pegasus West, other asset developments and projects. They will ensure appropriate resources are in place and work closely across INEOS functions and with contractors. 

The role will report to the Head of Projects and Engineering UK functionally and to the Pegasus West Project Manager.  

 

Key responsibilities 

Procedures and Systems 

  • Assist in preparation of Project Execution Plans 
  • Develop the cost control framework and procedures for projects including for cost variation and amendment control. 
  • Engage with contractors to ensure progress measurement, cost control and other relevant project services outputs are fit for purpose  
  • Ensure all parties are aware of the procedures and reporting requirements through presentations and/or individual coaching as required 

Project Cost, Scheule and Risk 

  • Develop, implement and maintain the project Master Control Estimate (MCE), project Cost Control Estimate (CCE), Project Master Schedule (PMS) and project Current Control Schedule (CCS) and project Risk Register (RR).  
  • Develop and provide overall cost and schedule forecasts including scenarios analysis. 
  • Prepare AFE’s for projects, with supporting information and justification. 
  • Perform / facilitate schedule and cost risk analysis 
  • Perform active risk management, including identification of risks, proposed mitigating actions and follow-up on their successful implementation. 

Reporting 

  • Develop and provide accurate and detailed cost and planning status and reporting. 
  • Compilation and distribution of the project monthly reports

 

Knowledge & Behavioral skills

  • Strong written, presentation and communication skills. 
  • Capable of integrating into a team environment 
  • Knowledge and good understanding of planning methodologies, techniques and planning tools such as Primavera or MS Project. 
  • Knowledge of cost estimation and benchmarking methodologies  
  • Expert MS office package user 

 

Desired experience 

  • 15+ years experience in Oil & Gas engineering activities, either with another production operator, or contractor/supplier to the O&G industry.  
  • Experience in a similar role 
  • Significant upstream offshore development experience  
  • Experience of Select, Define and Execute phases 
  • Experience of platform, pipelines, wells delivery in the North Sea  
  • Experience of the UKCS regulatory regime 
  • Greenfield and brownfield experience 

 

Education 

  • Degree level engineering qualification, and  
  • Chartered discipline engineer or Chartered Project Professional (ChPP)  

 

Location  

  • The role will be based in INEOS Energy UK’s offices in London 
  • Frequent travel to contractors and fabricators offices is envisaged
