Story so far

Since Sir Jim Ratcliffe announced Project Grenadier in 2017, our team at INEOS Automotive has grown rapidly. From a start-up to the scaled business we are now, we’ve hit some huge milestones along the way. Despite some global challenges, we brought our first vehicle, the INEOS Grenadier, from a vision to prototype and to market in just five years. And now, as the first customer deliveries of our INEOS Grenadier have begun, we look to the future with our first all-electric vehicle.

Your role: As a Project Manager you will lead future Grenadier life cycle programmes at INEOS Automotive. This includes new market introductions, derivatives, special editions, or other complex and bundled scope changes.

The goal of the Project Manager is to implement product changes and upgrades to our Grenadier product offering on schedule and maximising the returns to INEOS Automotive. A successful project delivers new technologies per customer and legal demand and per the strategic goals of INEOS Automotive all within an effective time plan.

The role will be responsible for creating and maintaining the programme structure, business case, budget/spend, organisation, timing, and governance.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Coordinate all Project Management activities related to your project(s).
  • Realistic planning of activities to deliver on time. Create and maintain master timing plan.
  • Support and interpret departmental timing plans.
  • Control of product cost and invest to budget.
  • Organizing internal and external resources to deliver.
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create the business case for your project(s) within a templated framework (working closely with Finance).
  • Maintain business case data as created by respective departments.
  • Manage project changes and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Ensure certification compliance and introduction to market on time.
  • Drive the project through the Product Development Process (PDP). Manage, gain, and document approval for all PDP gates.
  • Ensure necessary project governance.
  • Store and maintain programme data.
  • Ensure due diligence is executed across programme.
  • Prepare business cases for internal presentation.
  • Create and chair meeting structure to include Leads, Steering Committee and Executive Committee events.
  • Escalate issues appropriately to gain resolution in a timely manner.
  • Ensure programmes operates legally and without creating risk to company or its standing.
  • Support the Head of Programme Management in delivering a dependable and results focussed programme organisation.
  • Network with the wider INEOS organisation to maximise group leverage possibilities.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the PDP.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of the Programme management department, its processes, and tools.
  • Coach and support other Project Managers and colleagues in Programme Management.

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • A degree in Business is beneficial.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience gained in project and/or programme management in complex projects in the automotive industry, preferably at an automotive OEM or Tier1 supplier.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivery of high-quality products in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Leadership experience with demonstrably successful leadership style.
  • Proven experience in automotive related product development, ideally in a mass-production environment.
  • A broad knowledge and experience across vehicle systems, integration, supply chain and industrialization.
  • Automotive programme management know-how gained over a career in automobile manufacturing.
  • Excellent scheduling and long-term planning capabilities.
  • Clear, decisive, and efficient reporting skills.
  • Highly proficient in the use of MS Office and good capability to with IT systems in general.
  • Excellent understanding of English language.
  • Good German language skills are highly beneficial.
  • French language skills are beneficial.
  • Comfortable to take ownership and drive for success with a strong sense of team mentality and reliability.
  • Comfortable with drilling down and getting to the bottom.
  • Structured and well organized with highly evolved problem-solving skills and a track record of delivering in highly dynamic and demanding environments.
  • Willing to support side-projects / side-assignments to support and help your co-workers.
