ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the North Asset Manager, the Programme Manager is responsible for leading and shaping the delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary Programmes of activity for INEOS FPS North across Repair Orders, Construction, Fabric Maintenance, Scaffolding, Maintenance, Planning and Offshore Campaigns. The role focuses on translating business strategy into safe, efficient and reliable execution, ensuring that Asset and Organisational objectives are consistently achieved.
The Programme Manager provides leadership across the Programme Organisation, driving performance, accountability and alignment across teams and stakeholders. This includes establishing effective governance, optimising delivery processes and ensuring Programmes are adequately resourced and prioritised.
Operating at the centre of Asset delivery, the role requires proactive oversight of Programme performance, early identification and resolution of risks and issues and the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation. The Programme Manager plays a key role in continuously improving how work is planned and executed, delivering sustainable improvements in safety, reliability and operational performance.
WHAT DOES THE DAY TO DAY LOOK LIKE?
Programme Leadership & Delivery
- Lead and coordinate delivery across multiple programmes, ensuring alignment with business priorities and operational objectives.
- Provide clear strategic direction and support to programme leads.
- Drive accountability, performance and delivery across all programme activities.
- Proactively manage issues, risks and interdependencies to maintain progress.
Strategy & Performance
- Define and continuously improve programme governance, controls and reporting.
- Align programme outputs with FPS North business objectives.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, safety and operational performance.
- Monitor performance across all programme activities and implement improvement plans where required.
Execution & Workflow Management
- Ensure programmes are delivered safely on time and within budget.
- Prioritise work effectively across competing demands.
- Oversee the coordination of internal teams and third-party partners.
- Provide regular performance updates to the North Asset Manager.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Champion a culture of improvement and innovation.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance working practices.
- Support the adoption of new tools, processes and ideas.
SPECIAL FEATURES
- Part of Aberdeen Support Group for INEOS FPS Incident Management Team (formal rota).
- Some periods of inconvenience to support planned and unplanned plant outages.
- Develop cross company peer group networks to ensure enhanced sharing of operating/technology knowledge to benefit business performance.
- Contract owner for multiple supply chain.
WHAT DO I NEED?
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree qualified in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum Experience
- Strong background in Programme, Project or Asset Operations management.
- Proven ability to line-manage, coach and develop personnel in multi discipline teams.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Strong leadership skills, able to influence across functions and services to drive aligned delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex delivery environments.
- Strong decision-making skills, both within and outwith areas of expertise.
- Commercial awareness and budget management experience.
- High personal integrity and commitment to safety.
Technical Knowledge
- Understanding of Asset standards, procedures and relevant HSE legislation.
- Strong knowledge of Asset working practices and business rhythm to facilitate others to support aligned delivery of the Asset operating plan.
- Experience in project execution, TAR/W2W planning and delivery.
- Awareness of human factors influence on asset operations and process safety.
