How the Role fits In:
To manage all aspects of the continuous operation of the cumene production unit; to meet production goals safely and effectively in accordance with company policies and all environmental regulations; to maintain a well-trained work force; to insure an adequate supply of raw materials and to maintain the plant and equipment in good and safe working conditions.
Responsibilities AND Accountabilities
SHE Stewardship
ØMaintain safety as the highest priority and abide by all INEOS safety policies and procedures.
ØUnderstand and promote the INEOS “20 Principles of Safety”, assuring that personnel are aware of safe working practices and promote the safety concepts of “Coaching for Safety” and “Stop Work”.
ØPromote safety and safe actions through communication such as discussing safety with employees/contractors before job task, during meetings, and as opportunities arise to promote safety to the fullest extent possible.
ØEnsure compliance with all safety and environmental regulatory requirements and strive to meet internal SHE objectives.
ØEnsure completion of own and direct subordinate training requirements as outlined in the annual training schedule.
Work Duties
ØPlan and manage the cumene production operation with input from supply chain and logistics.
ØMaintain open communications with plant personnel to ensure continuity of safe, efficient operations.
ØIdentify, develop and monitor department training and staffing needs.
ØMaintain safety, environmental, process, and training records.
ØMaintain an effective cost control program.
ØResearch and act upon employee requests and recommendations.
ØConsistent administration of company policies, rules and regulations.
ØIn cooperation with the Maintenance Manager, schedule major plant maintenance operations, such as turnarounds, etc.
ØMeet customer requirement and direct compliance with EPA, Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), DOT and OSHA regulations.
ØRespond to all emergency situations as needed.
ØDevelop and maintain best practice operations and TAR maintenance procedures.
ØMeet regulatory requirements assigned to this position including EPA/Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), OSHA, and DOT regulations.
ØSupport future process modifications and expansions for customer and corporate requirements.
ØSupport Responsible Care and Product Stewardship.
ØImplement, achieve, and keep up with PSM.
ØWork on continuous improvement on all processes within the unit.Works to optimize unit to minimize operations costs.
ØWork together with all involved parties on projects such as capacity expansions.
Skills & Knowledge Required
Education/Experience
Education required is a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering (university level); and
Experience of 7 to 15 years of work in similar processes of the chemical industry and the ability to manage effectively as required.
