Product Regulatory Specialist
INEOS has an exciting opportunity for a Product Regulatory Specialist to join our Composites business at our Columbus, OH location.
INEOS Composites is a global chemical business with sales volume of 320 kte and revenue in excess of $1 billion. The Composites business has 6 manufacturing operations in the US, 1 in Brazil, 4 in Europe, 2 in China along with offices and headquarters in Ohio, Barcelona and Shanghai. The Composites Business primary products include unsaturated polyester resins (UPRs), vinyl ester resins (VERs) and gel coats.
Job Objective
The Product Regulatory Specialist will primarily be responsible for leading Hazard communication, Product safety and Dangerous Goods compliance. This position will report to Product Regulatory Affairs, Americas within the Technology team.
Key Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:
- Implement GHS Hazard communication standards for product safety datasheets and labels, including OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) and its regional counterparts
- Maintain classification of Product Dangerous goods and labelling requirements for transport of hazardous materials under all modes of shipment (DOT, IATA, IMDG, ADR, etc.)
- Evaluate hazards of raw materials as they affect classification of products
- Work with IT and other Regional Product Regulatory teams to manage SAP ERC rule logic impact on hazard communication and dangerous goods regulations to insure accurate output
- Identify and lead management of change processes to implement new classifications and regulations
- Prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Monitor and interpret emerging regulatory standards affecting Safety Datasheet and labelling requirements in the Americas regions and assist with other regions
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in chemistry, toxicology, environmental science, biology or other science discipline
- Experience with Hazard communication standards, including the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling and its adoption into US legislation as OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) and its regional counterparts
- Experience with Dangerous goods classification and compliance for transport of hazardous materials, including proper labeling, marking and packaging requirements under all modes of shipment (DOT, IATA, IMDG, ADR, etc.)
Preferred skillset by the business:
- Experience with SAP EHSM applications supporting product safety, dangerous goods, chemical management and product compliance (SERC, GLM, WWI, etc.)
- Professional regulatory certification such as: Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor, Registered Professional SDS and Label Author
- Masters degree
