The Position: Product Manager Advanced Styrenics  -Product Manager will be responsible for overseeing key business processes of product lines within the Advanced Styrenics business unit as well as analysis, evaluation, and recommendations on improvements to financial and operational performance and the long- term sustainable success of the business.

What you will do:  

  • Provide strategic business analysis, interpretation, and recommendations as it relates to Advanced Styrenics product lines. This includes support of strategic initiatives and business growth plans.
  • Develop product demand and financial forecasts, assist with supply planning and lead cost reduction initiatives. This includes the development of the annual budget.
  • Collaborate and provide guidance and support to the Sales function – strive to meet customer needs, resolve issues, maintain sales pipeline and new business development tracking
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on pricing decisions and policy
  • Develop and maintain product line marketing plans and marketing tools
  • Work closely with logistics, supply planning, and finance groups to analyze and identify business profitability improvement opportunities
  • Monitor and analyze key raw material cost and cost drivers
  • Understand and analyze financial data to identify shortfalls and opportunities
  • Develop and implement marketing communication strategy for Advanced Styrenics to support awareness and growth according to the specific needs of each industry and product line. 
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen to help establish the strategic direction and priorities
  • Support global & regional industry teams in achieving growth targets and to ensure implementation of agreed product line strategy
  • Support regional manufacturing operations for material specifications, product quality reviews, customer issue resolution, and new product launches.
  • Coordinate and provide technical product support to regional / global industry sales teams and technical service team.  Support all agency activities, customer color development and product approvals.
  • Maintain a strong communication with the Product Managers from other regions; provide guidance and support on operational, commercial, and quality needs from other regions as well as direct involvement on the global strategies and initiatives
  • Actively participate in the resolution of customer complaints and be the focal point between all the functional areas involved. Manage and maintain all the information related to Non-Conformance Reports and provide recommendations on how to prevent repetitive issues

What you will bring: 

Level of education & knowledge:

  • Preferred BS in Engineering, Business or Finance
  • MBA a plus, but not required
  • Fluent in English in speaking and writing
  • Other language skills preferred

Experience in general:

  • 5+ years working experience in chemical / plastics industry, particularly related to marketing and sales, planning, or manufacturing

Technical skills:

  • Understanding of plastic resin terminology, including performance measures and product attributes
  • Understanding of plastic processing and forming methods
  • Excellent strategic and analytical skills
  • Expertise in Marketing and Sales
  • Intercultural understanding
  • Competence to understand constantly changing complex market environments
  • Understand cross-functional / corss-regional framework within INEOS Styrolution to derive target optimal conclusions and recommendations
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to successfully interface with internal and external personnel from various functions and management levels

The Location: This opportunity is located in  Aurora, Illinois, only 5 miles from downtown Naperville.
