Procurement Specialist

Role synopsis:

Assure on time services, goods, and maintenance through negotiation of Purchase Orders and Contracts with Domestic and International Suppliers. Assures the procurement process is aligned with Americas Procurement policies and guidelines. Assures competitive costs in the markets with a great platform of reliable suppliers. Cost Savings and Cost Avoidances are key drivers.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Category Strategy development - defining, sharing and implementation of the procurement strategy for Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance, Rental Equipment, Engineering Services, Water Treatment, Cylinder Gasses, Safety, Health & Environmental, etc.  
  • Develop strong relationships with the Operations, Maintenance and Project teams across the Aromatics Region to ensure support for all their purchasing needs in compliance with budgets and with the best options (suppliers) in the market. Establishes robust communication plan informing business partners of progress and benefits of the Procurement activity. 
  • Evaluates market research, analyzes company spend, reviews internal business goals, and develops the critical customer requirements for each responsible category. 
  • Responsible for developing Aromatics go to market strategy, delivering quality and organized sourcing events.  Ensures the procurement process will be followed and that is aligned accordingly to Americas and Corporate Policies. 
  • Evaluates and negotiate offers received to provide data driven sourcing recommendations which determine the best overall value - balancing pricing, terms and risk, with obtaining the best overall quality, reliability, and timely sources of supply. 
  • Develop and implement contractual framework in close cooperation with Legal.
  • Manages the overall contracting life cycle.  Maintains supplier relationships to ensure supplier expectations and established key performance metrics are being met.  Monitors supplier delivery times and manage cost, risk and conflict where there are major disruptions in supply.
  • Catalogues suppliers by category to qualify alternatives sources of supply for future business opportunities.  Establishes that all suppliers can comply with INEOS Safety and Quality standards prior issuance of Contract and/or Purchase Orders.
  • Source all services, goods, and maintenance which comply with Safety, Health & Environmental direction of the Plant Manager or SHE Manager.
  • Supports Regional & Local Initiatives.

Technical Skills:

  • Negotiation and Management of Conflicts
  • Planning and Resources Management – ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and thoroughly.

  • Technology adept (Microsoft office Suite such as Excel, Word, and Power Point, SAP, etc.)
  • Excellent written and Communication skills required- able to negotiate in English.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required – Business, Finance, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering
  • 3+ years procurement, contracting, supply chain management experience. 
  • Procurement experience in manufacturing settings a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of various contracting models is strongly desired.
  • SAP System experience.
