about the role
The key requirements of this role are to:
- Across transactional/operational and contracts procurement scopes be responsible in ensuring that the FPS Assets have the correct materials, equipment and services available to be able to meet the site demands.
- The individual will be responsible to ensure that the materials, equipment and services ordered comply with the FPS standards for quality, safety, schedule and price.
- Direct internal stakeholders in all aspects of supplier selection, evaluation and supplier risk and management
The procurement function continues to transform and to support our ambitious plans – this role will help support a number of improvement initiatives – this is a unique opportunity to further develop the procurement function
What does the day to day look like?
- Ensure that security of supply for services is maintained safely, to the correct technical specification and on schedule to meet operational requirements.
- Identify and manage direct and indirect procurement demand on a timely basis, informing demand owners on progression status and risks to meeting expectations.
- Obtaining 3 quotes on Operational procurement scopes, leading to subsequent negotiations and reporting savings.
- Development of procurement strategies and award of contracts to support FPS that will achieve best value for the business. Ensuring FPS stakeholders are engaged in the market analysis, business demand, strategy, tender, evaluation and award phases.
- Provide market knowledge both commercial and technical to all FPS procurement customers
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure best commercial terms based on agreed specification and demand to spend INEOS cash to ensure best value for the business.
- Post purchase and contract award management of supplier performance. Where applicable underpinned by delivery of the Supplier Relationship & Performance Management (SRPM) tool.
- Adhere to the department procurement processes that meet internal INEOS FPS requirements.
- Identify and recommend new suppliers to the businesses that can offer a commercial or technical advantage to FPS to mitigate asset schedule risks.
- Provide expert advice on procurement related risks, including in depth market knowledge both commercial and technical to all FPS procurement customers.
- Provide systems and functional administration support as required.
What dO I need?
- MCIPS qualified
- Strong IT skills including excel (strong capability preferred), word, Maximo, SAP & Database analysis would be advantageous.
- Self-starter and comfortable with communications between engineers, planners, project managers, procurement specialists and suppliers.
- Previous purchasing / commercial / contractual (5years) experience in a large complex manufacturing environment and can demonstrate challenge to suppliers to delivery cost savings.
- Good working knowledge and skills of MS office tools particularly Excel.
- Deep understanding of cost drivers on contracts in order to demonstrate transparency and overall value
- Developed negotiation skills and techniques.
